Wipe Swap-Solar Panels & Salon Blowouts

Podcast Summary – Wife Swap S1 E1: “Overdressed and Underprepared”

The series kicks off in Salt Lake City, Utah, where perfectionist housewife Angie Katsanevas (yes, the Real Housewife of Salt Lake City) runs a tight, glamorous ship with husband Shawn and daughter Elektra. Angie loves structure, control, and luxury — think salon workouts and spotless floors — while Shawn just wants her to relax and spend more quality time as a family.

Across the border in Chalice, Idaho, we meet Lindsey Flake, who lives completely off-grid with husband Tanner and their three kids. They grow their own food, use solar power, and have no running water. After battling rheumatoid arthritis, Lindsey chose a simpler, self-sustaining life that restored her health and happiness. She hopes to show another family the beauty of unplugging — while her husband teases that she might not want to come back once she sees the fancy life.

When Angie and Lindsey swap homes, chaos (and comedy) ensues. Angie arrives in the wilderness with a hat box and Givenchy boots, instantly declaring she’s “overdressed and underprepared.” Meanwhile, Lindsey steps into Angie’s chic Salt Lake home, confused by heated floors, endless beauty products, and a dishwasher that needs to be “knocked on.”

As they follow each other’s household rules, both women are pushed far outside their comfort zones — Angie learns to haul water, bathe outdoors, and bond with kids in nature, while Lindsey experiences salon workouts, daily glam, and the demands of perfection. Their rule changes bring heartfelt lessons: Angie sends Tanner out on a real date, and Lindsey ditches the glam to teach Shawn and Elektra the value of slowing down.

By the end, both women are transformed. Angie learns that simplicity brings peace — she even tears up reflecting on it — while Lindsey realizes a little luxury (and indoor plumbing) isn’t so bad. When they reunite, the respect between them is genuine. Angie calls Lindsey’s life “humbling,” and Lindsey admits the swap was harder than she expected but life-changing.

Both families end up blending a bit of each other’s worlds — Angie starts gardening and spending more family time, while Lindsey occasionally enjoys a bidet and margarita moment.

Hmm

Wendy (00:01.301)
Welcome to We Wine Whenever, I'm Wendy.

Kelli (00:04.226)
I'm Kelly. The band's back together.

Lori (00:05.056)
and I'm Lori.

Wendy (00:06.963)
We- Yep, Vann is back together. We are talking about Wife Swap, Season 1, Episode 1, overdressed and underprepared. Loved, loved, loved this. Loved it.

Lori (00:08.19)
Yes.

Kelli (00:24.708)
Me too.

Lori (00:25.742)
Okay, I'm gonna do four loves. You did three, I'm doing four. Just, this is what I choose. I would choose to watch this. I thought it was absolutely lovely. And I've always been a huge Angie fan. And now, just through the roof, Angie fan.

Wendy (00:28.113)
Okay.

Kelli (00:48.376)
just feel like if you didn't love Angie already, you're gonna love her after watching this. And I would imagine we're gonna see that with all of the Housewives. I mean, you're right.

Lori (00:51.694)
You know, I've heard that.

Lori (00:56.167)
I don't know. I've seen some coming attractions that I'm like,

Kelli (01:02.776)
With, well, I guess Melissa, right? Cause we've only seen coming attractions with Melissa.

Wendy (01:02.975)
I agree. Wendy. No, with Wendy. No, I've seen coming interactions with Wendy. Yeah.

Lori (01:04.43)
Mm-hmm. And there's some with Wendy Kluh. Yeah, I've seen some of those too. And I'm like, you people have like tough boots to fill.

Kelli (01:09.121)
I haven't seen any with Wendy.

Kelli (01:18.38)
Yeah, I mean, I thought Angie was the most, I mean, when she cleaned that toilet, because I don't know if I could have done it.

Lori (01:25.278)
yeah. Okay, so we'll get to it, but I'm just going to say it now, because this is what happens when you're post-menopausal. You'll forget that you wanted to say something. Okay, so the whole composting toilet thing.

They're putting it, they're taking it out of the toilet and then putting it in all these garbage bags. Are all these garbage bags biodegradable? Because if not, then what are you fucking doing? I would think so, but it was went into a bag, and a bag into another bag, and then I was like,

Kelli (01:53.506)
I would imagine they have to be, right? But how do they not disintegrate sitting in the bowl?

Wendy (02:04.149)
Alright, can I just say, like, why are you analyzing the freaking toilet? Like, of all things to analyze, why are we starting off with the toilet?

Lori (02:08.238)
The poop? Because that's just how I go. That's me. That's me. That's me. Yeah. I mean, I know there are like compostable incinerator toilets that will just incinerate the paper and the waste. And those I think are awesome. But I was like, okay, well, so then what's the point if you're taking it out and putting it in two plastic bags?

Kelli (02:13.338)
Because that's why they're doing it. That's a valid point.

Kelli (02:37.614)
They have to be biodegradable though, I would imagine. Yeah, let's go with it, because these people seem way smarter than any of us. Like the whole way they're living, you know? It's a valid question, it's a valid question.

Lori (02:39.4)
I would, one would hope so. I'm just saying. Okay. All right. Then I am. Okay. All right. I just couldn't help myself. All right. All right. God. All right. God.

Wendy (02:54.005)
All right, and I'm not even gonna put my two cents in on it because... Okay. All right, we start out in Salt Lake City, Utah, and we see Angie, and she loves to cook, and she loves to keep her house in order.

Sean, her husband is there and she's giving him directions of like what to do when she's gone. And Sean says it and I can see it. She micromanages everything. That's what she does. That's what she does.

Lori (03:24.824)
Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm.

Kelli (03:26.158)
I loved when she said she hasn't had a facelift, but her face is tight from talking so much.

Wendy (03:31.404)
You

Lori (03:32.894)
I loved when she said, do I really have OC day or am I just gifted with doing things perfectly? I loved it. It was like, Angie. But I love.

Kelli (03:38.778)
hahahahah

Wendy (03:39.59)
Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha

I liked it when Sean said, does some people run on the treadmill and some people run their mouth, meaning his wife. I was like,

Lori (03:50.582)
Mm-hmm, mm-hmm, mm-hmm. And I love the little scenes with Sean and Electra. Angie's cleaning and Sean's saying, yeah, she's cleaning what I cleaned already. And Electra's saying, yeah, like, what is she doing? It's all clean. But I just love their little dynamic. Yes.

Kelli (04:04.719)
Yeah.

Kelli (04:08.046)
Right, right.

Wendy (04:10.057)
I mean, she obviously has OCD. She can't help it. She just can't help it. I mean, I kind of wish I had a little OCD and this house would be a heck of a lot cleaner. Me neither.

Kelli (04:11.96)
Yeah, she for sure has OCD.

Lori (04:14.838)
Yeah, she can't help it. Yeah.

Kelli (04:21.274)
Me too, I don't have it.

Lori (04:22.907)
please, don't have it either. Believe me, I don't have

Kelli (04:25.914)
I don't have it. I was just thinking a couple of weeks ago, I'm like, I really should wipe down the walls of my bathroom. And then Eric painted the bathroom this week. I was like, sweet, now I don't have to.

Wendy (04:33.301)
Hmm.

Lori (04:36.942)
Yeah, save me from that!

Wendy (04:39.593)
There you go. Perfect.

Lori (04:40.878)
Absolutely.

Kelli (04:41.152)
I mean, I'm pretty sure he wiped them down before he painted, whatever, he put primer up and then painted. So really, who gives a shit at this point? It's covered. Yeah.

Wendy (04:45.397)
Yeah, it's clean.

Lori (04:46.464)
It's all good no matter what. And you know what? The bottom line is you don't have to wipe the walls down the bathroom. That's the bottom line. Absolutely.

Kelli (04:53.134)
That's what I'm saying. He really did me a solid.

Wendy (04:55.315)
Yep. Yeah.

Wendy (05:01.461)
So then we go to Chalice, Idaho. They live off the grid. Lindsay and her husband Tanner. They have a son Bridger who's 12, Wyatt who's nine, and Hazel is five. They are adorable. Their last name is Flakes. think Flakes, the Flakes.

Lori (05:16.12)
They're all so cute.

Kelli (05:17.658)
So cute.

Wendy (05:25.173)
They originally had the American dream, they tell us. They bought a house and they lived in Rexburg, Idaho. And I don't know if that was actually the house that they showed us, but it was, you know, a house like ours, just a regular house. And then Lindsay was diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis. And the doctors just wanted to, what they do, treat the symptoms, which is give her a pill. And she didn't want to do that. She didn't want to go on a pill. So she decided to try and live and eat.

Lori (05:46.414)
Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm.

Wendy (05:54.813)
an anti-inflammatory diet, which I would love to do this, but I do not have the discipline to do this because I think that it would help me tremendously, but I'm not disciplined. Yeah.

Lori (06:01.347)
Mm-hmm.

Lori (06:05.038)
You and me both, girl.

Kelli (06:06.714)
I'm gonna tell you something so you know, both know I've been having a lot of problems with my knees lately. Of course, I still haven't gone to the doctor, but I have self-diagnosed myself with arthritis because I had it when I was a little girl. So I talked to my nutritionist this week and I told her like, I'm gonna try doing this, because I was on Pinterest looking up and Mediterranean diets, you know, help this. It's not as hard as you think, especially for you, Lord, because a lot of the stuff you've already cooked.

Lori (06:15.405)
Yes.

Wendy (06:15.881)
OK.

Lori (06:33.058)
Mm-hmm.

Kelli (06:33.622)
I think Wendy, honestly, if you told Bill, he would just start cooking like this for you. Because Bill likes to cook. Yeah.

Wendy (06:41.582)
he would. no, absolutely he would. But the problem is I don't eat the stuff that I need to eat.

Kelli (06:48.032)
No, and you never did. So it would be retraining yourself, yeah.

Wendy (06:50.045)
I never did and I don't like the foods. Yes, I would have to eat things I don't like and I don't like to put things in my mouth that I don't like to eat. just don't. Yes, I don't like vegetables. And yeah, like I eat fish. I know, I know. I should just do it. I should just pick the vegetables that I like. I like tomatoes. I don't mind fish. It has to be like fresh fish. don't like.

Lori (07:00.91)
that you don't like, yeah. Yeah, but see, Kelly and I like that.

Kelli (07:01.826)
It's a lot of vegetables and a lot of fish.

Yeah.

Kelli (07:14.414)
Yeah, that's good.

Lori (07:15.267)
That's a fruit.

Kelli (07:19.279)
Yeah.

Wendy (07:20.437)
You know, I don't like old, like I really like fresh fish. I like white fish, like, you know, cod and yeah, grouper, you know. Yeah. All right.

Lori (07:20.939)
Yeah.

Kelli (07:24.74)
Yeah. God. Yeah.

Lori (07:27.31)
Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. Well done.

Kelli (07:30.714)
You could do it though and brown rice.

Wendy (07:36.341)
I don't care about fillers. I don't care about bread. I don't need a carb. Yeah, I don't care about that.

Kelli (07:39.48)
You don't care about carbs. You don't need carbs. Yeah, yeah, yeah.

Lori (07:43.232)
Listen, Wendy eats so little compared to me and Kelly that...

Kelli (07:47.17)
my god. I would die. I would shrivel up. I would shrivel up if I ate what Wendy ate.

Wendy (07:48.373)
It really...

Lori (07:49.398)
I wish I had that problem.

Wendy (07:53.621)
Honestly, my problem is the sugar. It's the sugar. And I know sugar is so addicting. And it is. I am literally addicted to sugar. So if I could stop the sugar, it would help me. It would. Yeah.

Kelli (07:57.038)
Yeah.

Lori (07:59.539)
Mm-hmm, it is addicting. yes.

Kelli (08:01.166)
Yeah, of course it is.

Lori (08:07.382)
It would help you. Yep. Me too. I get it.

Kelli (08:10.948)
Listen, I'm not a sweets person, but if you put a cheesecake in front of me, I would eat the entire thing. So you're absolutely right, sugar is addictive, because I take one spoonful and I wanna eat the whole cake.

Lori (08:22.958)
Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm.

Wendy (08:23.572)
Mm-hmm.

Kelli (08:25.018)
Alright, let's get back to Wives. Enough about us!

Wendy (08:26.549)
All right, so she started this anti-inflammatory diet and they started, know, they wanted to grow their own food. And as soon as she started this, she instantly felt better. So they decided like, let's try this. Like, let's go someplace where we can live off the grid and, you know, live this lifestyle.

Lori (08:26.67)
All right, all right, about us.

Lori (08:46.286)
I'm not gonna lie, it's something that has always interested me, extremely, to live like that. I feel like I could do it. I could do it.

Kelli (08:52.664)
I could see you doing it.

Wendy (08:54.195)
I could definitely see you doing it. You could do it. You definitely could do it. No, no, no, no. No. my goodness.

Kelli (08:58.466)
Yeah, you could definitely do it. I couldn't, and Wendy definitely could not.

Lori (09:03.276)
No, I feel like I could.

You

Kelli (09:07.438)
could do it for like two days and then I'd be like, alright.

Lori (09:10.35)
Alright, enough.

Wendy (09:11.155)
Yeah. I don't even know if I could do 48 hours. So they, you know, she talks about the closest person is four miles away and it takes them 30 minutes to get into town. So they're not tied to a power grid, but they do have solar. So they have their own solar for electricity. They have no running water and she's hoping to get out of this to teach another family, like a better way of living. And

Kelli (09:14.552)
I don't, yeah, it would be pushing it.

Wendy (09:40.423)
It's so funny, she's talking to her kids, like what do they think? And they think that the new mom that's gonna come is gonna be like a rich little brat. And the husband said, like, what if you go to some fancy house and it's amazing and you're gonna be like, I gotta go back to that dump?

Lori (09:51.138)
Mm-hmm. So funny.

Kelli (09:53.53)
That was funny.

Wendy (10:06.133)
so Angie finds out while she's, you know, eating dinner with her family that she's going to Chalice, Idaho and that she's going to be like doing ranch living. And Sean says Angie's idea of roughing it is going to the Four Seasons. And I was like, I'm here with you girl. And her daughter, Electra is like, my God, she's going to die. Like she doesn't think she's going to be able to make it.

Lori (10:24.142)
forces.

Lori (10:28.333)
Mm-hmm.

Kelli (10:35.482)
That was really funny.

Wendy (10:37.937)
And Lindsay finds out that she's going to Salt Lake City and she knows that it's a housewife. So they're trying to figure out which housewife and she immediately thinks Lisa. I know, I'm like, no.

Kelli (10:46.436)
She said Lisa Barlow.

Lori (10:46.786)
lord. You imagine. But wait, Would that not be an awesome episode though? If Lisa, if Lisa, I know, but if she did, wouldn't it be awesome?

Kelli (10:57.434)
She wouldn't do it. Lisa would never do it.

Wendy (10:57.617)
No. No.

Kelli (11:02.574)
Yeah, because we would see meltdown after meltdown. Just the fact that she couldn't bring her glam with her would have probably been a meltdown. Yeah. She never would do it. She would never do it.

Lori (11:05.932)
Wouldn't it be awesome?

Wendy (11:07.891)
Exactly, exactly.

Lori (11:11.136)
It would be so good though. It's a shame. It will never happen. It's shame.

Wendy (11:16.021)
She would never do it. So.

Kelli (11:22.136)
when Angie arrives and she's holding her hat box.

Lori (11:25.102)
Yeah, and the head and the foam head. Stare.

Wendy (11:25.397)
I thought the same thing.

Wendy (11:29.321)
The hat box, the foam head, the three pieces of luggage. was like, my God, that was so funny. No, not yet, but that was so funny. That was so funny. Angie's looking around for her cowboy boots. She's like, gotta get her cowboy boots. So Lindsay's son wants to go with her. He wants to live in some rich lady's house.

Kelli (11:32.568)
The Givenchy boots. she wasn't wearing those yet. She wasn't wearing those.

Lori (11:34.22)
Yeah.

Lori (11:38.05)
Right, Yeah.

Wendy (11:51.655)
And as Angie's driving there, she's like, my God, like I haven't seen a house for miles. She's like, like who lives out here in the middle of nowhere?

Lori (11:56.297)
Mm-hmm.

Kelli (11:57.861)
like where yeah where am I going

Wendy (12:01.589)
And when she gets out, she says the name of the episode. She's like, I'm definitely overdressed and underprepared. So that's how we got the name of this episode. And then Lyn's...

Kelli (12:13.22)
How about Lindsay has one backpack and Angie had all those.

Wendy (12:16.855)
my god.

Lori (12:17.046)
Yes. All those suitcases.

Wendy (12:19.987)
It's funny because I didn't notice that until she left. I didn't notice that she only walked in with a backpack.

Lori (12:24.52)
yeah, I noticed it when she went.

Kelli (12:25.326)
I think I noticed it when she got there, but I wasn't thinking like, she only brought one backpack. Like I figured that her backpack was on her back and maybe she had other bags that we just weren't seeing. But you're right, when she left, she was like, this is all I brought. And she was like, my God, your family must have thought I was an asshole.

Wendy (12:35.636)
Yeah.

Wendy (12:39.997)
I can't even imagine.

So Lindsay gets to Angie's house and she's greeted by the dog and she's like, I gotta figure out whose house this is. So, you know, she looks at the pictures and she realizes it's Angie's house. And Angie goes inside Lindsay's house and she's like, my gosh, it's giving like the Hills have eyes, like scary.

Lori (13:07.594)
Yes, yes.

Wendy (13:10.898)
And then she's trying to figure out, so she looks at the pictures and she's like, is that art or is that my husband, like when he's fishing? The fishing picture.

Lori (13:18.486)
Yes, yes, funny.

Kelli (13:18.71)
Yes, yes.

Lori (13:22.968)
so fun.

Kelli (13:23.064)
And it did kind of look like him. Was it him? I think it was him!

Wendy (13:25.919)
think it was. mean, yeah, yeah, I do too. I do too.

Lori (13:26.786)
think it was him. I think it was a photograph. Yeah.

Wendy (13:37.041)
So then Lindsay says, it's so fancy and so perfect. It's like a whole new world for me. And then she walks in, she's like, my God, the floor is heated. I love a heated floor. I really do.

Kelli (13:48.414)
my, how awesome. Who did that? Debbie Heitner.

Lori (13:50.062)
I love you.

Wendy (13:53.375)
Who? she has heated floors. Yeah.

Lori (13:55.502)
Yeah.

Kelli (13:56.315)
pretty sure. I have to ask her. I'm almost positive.

Wendy (13:59.813)
So even when she was in the bathroom, she's like, still have to be conscious about the amount of water. mean, because they have a bidet, like they have a bidet, the shower, the bathtub, like, yeah. Then Angie finds the bathroom and realizes that there's no running water.

Lori (14:08.77)
Better.

Lori (14:16.878)
You're running water, yeah, my gosh.

Kelli (14:20.014)
the door.

Wendy (14:20.309)
I'm like, she's like, this is a little alarming. Like, I don't think I'm gonna be able to use the restroom for the next three days.

Lori (14:27.598)
Mm-hmm.

Kelli (14:29.924)
Yeah, I would have had a hard time with that.

Wendy (14:30.225)
Wendy (14:33.781)
I listen, I will say this. I do go to Island Beach State Park and I do have a bucket and a toilet seat and the kitty litter and my pop-up bathroom. So I could survive that. That I could survive. Yeah.

Lori (14:42.124)
Yeah. Yeah.

Kelli (14:43.516)
that's right. You do.

Kelli (14:47.821)
Yeah.

Lori (14:47.981)
Yes.

Kelli (14:51.972)
That's that part you could do. Yeah.

Lori (14:52.204)
Yeah. Because we have a state park by us. It's like Wendy said, it's called Island Beach State Park. And Wendy and her husband go fishing and you have to go onto the beach with your four-wheel drive vehicle. And you go all the way down to the end of the beach where there are no facilities. So Wendy has this cool little pop-up tent with her little makeshift potty in there. And it works out fine.

Wendy (14:57.042)
Yes.

Wendy (15:09.289)
Right.

Wendy (15:12.585)
Yes.

Yes. It does work. And I have to say, Bill made me a little toilet paper holder stand for inside the bathroom and little wet wipes. I'm not even joking. He made it. He does. He really does. Yes, he does. He treats me like the princess that I am. I'm kidding.

Lori (15:23.618)
There you go, see?

Lori (15:28.674)
Yeah, it's all set up.

Kelli (15:28.986)
He really wants you to go to the beach with him. This is how much he wants you to go to the beach with him.

Kelli (15:40.28)
Right. Right. I loved when Lindsay was like looking at Angie's designer sunglasses, which are probably like 10 grand a pop. And she's like, yeah, I would wear these mountain biking.

Lori (15:40.472)
There you go.

Wendy (15:48.894)
Yes.

I know, cause that was those pink ones. Yep. I loved when she got, when Lindsay got to Angie's rules and she opened up the big scroll. I was like, this was great.

Lori (15:51.852)
Yeah, riding the quad. Riding the quad, yeah.

Kelli (15:54.584)
Riding a quad.

Yeah.

Kelli (16:03.958)
Yes, yes, the scroll was great.

Lori (16:04.75)
Yes. Yeah. Yeah, that was a lot. Angie wrote a dissertation there.

Kelli (16:11.917)
Yeah.

Wendy (16:12.421)
Yes. In her scroll, she said, I'm handing you over my greatest treasure, my home and my family. I thought she had those backwards though. thought she should have said my family and my home, but okay, whatever. We hit the ground running at 7 a.m. You wanna be dressed and ready for your morning workout with Sean. After the gym, it's time to get ready to head to the salon. So.

Lori (16:24.952)
Yeah, yeah.

Kelli (16:26.842)
Yeah, yeah.

Wendy (16:38.525)
Listen, I didn't think that was so bad. 7 a.m.? Like, that's what I do anyway, every day.

Kelli (16:42.564)
Yeah, 7 a.m. is great. I don't love the exercising at 7 a.m., but all right. But then you get to go work at a salon. Like, it's the funnest job in the world.

Wendy (16:51.336)
Right.

Lori (16:51.438)
There you go.

Kelli (16:54.426)
I don't know how fun it is when you own it, but when you just work there, it's great. It's gotta be fun. Yeah, this is a salon.

Wendy (16:54.63)
Wendy (16:58.613)
I'm sure it's funner when you own it. Right?

Lori (17:01.806)
Yeah.

Wendy (17:04.149)
So then Angie reads, Lindsay's, welcome to my home. You might have noticed my home as unique and we live off the grid. I hope you leave with a new understanding of what peace can look like. And I really think she did. I think she did.

Kelli (17:16.814)
I think she did, too. I think she did, too.

Lori (17:16.962)
most definitely. Most definitely.

Wendy (17:21.257)
Then Angie meets Tanner and the kids and she's like, I'm a hugger. I hope you're a hugger. And she asks them all and she hugs them all. But you could see immediately Hazel, was it the little girl Hazel? Hazel just was like, Angie was in love with Hazel and Hazel was in love with Angie immediately.

Kelli (17:32.216)
Yeah. Yeah.

Lori (17:38.648)
So cute.

Kelli (17:39.716)
I think Hazel looked at Angie like she was this glamorous woman who's on TV and she just, every little girl's gonna be so enamored with that.

Lori (17:45.685)
Mm-hmm.

Wendy (17:50.099)
Yes.

Lori (17:50.35)
But you know what though, a lot of times little girls are like that though. Like for instance, last weekend I went to my coworker is Egyptian. So I went with her to an Egyptian festival and one of her niece's kids was there. So she was a little girl and she sat next to me and within like a half hour she was like, are you coming over? know, like she was just, you know, sometimes they

Kelli (18:17.242)
Mmm.

Lori (18:20.142)
sometimes they do that. Like if there's somebody that they like and they know is showing interest in them, they can really like cling on. So I think that it was part of that. And think it's just, Angie's just got a cool vibe. She's got a nice vibe and kids are not stupid. Kids are not stupid. So they could all tell right away that, you know, she's a genuine person. So.

Kelli (18:22.02)
Yeah.

Kelli (18:36.378)
She's got a very cool vibe, very cool vibe. Yep.

Wendy (18:36.383)
She does.

Kelli (18:46.968)
Yeah, for sure.

Wendy (18:50.758)
Then Lindsay meets Sean and Electra and the dogs. Sean immediately thought that she had an outdoorsy vibe.

Lori (18:59.906)
What do say? Did she call her granola? No, granola. he he said she was like a REI representative or something.

Kelli (19:02.586)
Granola. Or bohemian? No, granola? Granola.

Wendy (19:03.39)
Yeah.

I think granola.

Kelli (19:11.928)
Yes, yes, yes, yes, yes.

Wendy (19:12.481)
Yes, yes, yes. Lindsay's telling them that they bought a cab into Homestead and they don't have any running water. And she says to Elekra, your mom's not gonna have any running water. And Elekra is like, she's gonna wanna come home. She's not gonna be able to take that.

Kelli (19:27.758)
Yeah, they were laughing. Sean seemed into it though. Like I don't think he would want to live that way in general all the time, but he like seemed to embrace it, I thought.

Lori (19:30.242)
Yeah.

yeah!

Lori (19:40.407)
yeah, I think he could have done it. not, like you said, maybe not full time, you know, he could have went out there and hung for like two weeks and been good, you know.

Wendy (19:41.162)
Yeah.

Kelli (19:47.98)
Yeah, I just feel like Angie and Sean were both, and elected, like they were all very cool about it.

Lori (19:53.036)
yeah, very, very.

Wendy (19:53.107)
Yeah.

Wendy (19:56.905)
And then back in Idaho, they show Angie where they get their water from at the spring and they get the five gallon buckets and they have to fill them up to this 50 gallon barrel. Like she's like, why would you make this choice? Like to live like this is kind of extreme. where do I shower? And then they show her the outside bathtub.

Lori (20:08.259)
Mm-hmm.

Kelli (20:21.114)
Okay, so I have a question. Do you think they change the water every time somebody goes in the bath? Like if the oldest son goes in the bath, do they change the water before the other son goes in the bath? Because if not, ew.

Wendy (20:22.92)
Yeah.

Lori (20:36.738)
Listen, there's, do you know the saying, don't throw the baby out with the bath water? Do you ever hear that? You never heard that saying? my God. Yeah, it's an old saying, but what used to happen, it was exactly that, Kelly. The oldest child would bathe first, and then the next youngest one would get in, and they would keep going on down the line. And that's where the saying came from.

Kelli (20:43.706)
I never heard that. No? What does it mean?

Wendy (20:46.449)
Of I've heard that saying, yes.

Lori (21:04.706)
don't throw the baby out with the bathwater. Because the baby would be the last to be bathed in that water and then you would dump the water out. Because you had to haul that fucking water from somewhere.

Kelli (21:17.742)
so they're not changing the water.

Wendy (21:19.605)
They're not changing the water. I didn't think they were changing the water.

Lori (21:20.046)
I don't know if they're not changing the water.

Kelli (21:21.636)
Okay, that was my first question. My second question is this. When Lindsay was shown Angie's bathroom, Angie's shower, was windows from floor to ceiling. So are we thinking that there's like reflective glass on the outside or are people just watching her shower?

Lori (21:32.598)
I saw that, that was very odd.

Wendy (21:38.269)
Yes. No, I think there's reflective glass. Because her house is very contemporary. when you see it, I'm sure it's reflective glass.

Lori (21:38.282)
one would hope, right? One would hope. Right. And yeah.

Lori (21:49.546)
And Kelly, what they would probably do is if you had to lug that water, you would probably put in a little bit for the first kid. Let them use it. You know, if you wanted to take some, you would never fill the bath all the way up. You would put a little bit in the bottom and that's what you got to work with. Dump it on yourself when you rinse.

Wendy (21:54.047)
for one-way glass.

Kelli (22:14.584)
You're asking for an infection, is what I'm saying. At least the females, unless you change that water.

Lori (22:19.724)
Well, no, well, not necessarily. Well, yeah. But like I said, they could they could use a small amount. It's not a fill up the bathtub deal. It's put a little water in there, wash soap up, and then you stand up and you rinse off with a little bit of water and then you let the water out and then the next kid comes. But it's not some big.

Kelli (22:24.314)
Come on now.

Wendy (22:24.693)
don't know because

Kelli (22:41.238)
I'm on board with everything the flakes are doing, but the repurposed bathwater, I'm not on board with.

Lori (22:45.086)
debating situation. Kelly's not having it. All right. Well, you might be if you had to drag it.

Wendy (22:51.509)
I'm bored with

I'm not on board with doing it outside in the winter.

Kelli (22:57.146)
Well, where are they? They're in Idaho?

Lori (22:59.148)
Yeah, I was wondering about that.

Kelli (23:02.148)
Does it get cold there? I don't- I'm very bad at geography.

Wendy (23:02.165)
It's gotta get cold.

Yes, it gets colder.

Lori (23:06.848)
Yeah, yeah, I didn't think about that.

Kelli (23:10.682)
Maybe they bring the bath inside.

Wendy (23:10.719)
You guys are always worried about the cleanliness. I'm worried about comfort. I told you. I told you. I like to be climate controlled. I've said this many times. I do. I do. I do. my gosh. So day one in Idaho, Lindsay's rules. Angie finds out that she's going to shower and wash her hair in that bathtub.

Kelli (23:14.714)
I'm worried about infections for hazel.

Lori (23:15.95)
Wendy's about the temperature.

Kelli (23:21.816)
You do like climate controlled situations.

Lori (23:24.622)
who likes the climate control. Yeah, yeah, yeah.

Kelli (23:28.004)
Ha

Wendy (23:40.647)
I don't think that that's going to happen. No.

Kelli (23:41.06)
She did not wash her hair. That hair did not touch that bathwater.

Lori (23:43.788)
I would've watched him again. Yeah, I don't think I would've.

Kelli (23:47.948)
Mm-mm. It's only two days. You can do it.

Wendy (23:48.421)
They go, yeah, exactly. I wouldn't wash it either. I mean, I only wash my hair once a week and I have running water. So yes, I'm yeah. They take the four wheelers up to the top of the mountain, which was very cool. Like, amazing. It was amazing.

Kelli (23:54.393)
Me too. Me too. Exactly. We'd be all set, ladies.

Lori (23:54.753)
Me too, so yeah, yeah.

Kelli (24:06.894)
That view was breathtaking. Yes, that view was breathtaking.

Lori (24:07.022)
Beautiful.

Wendy (24:14.869)
Little Hazel's up there picking flowers for Angie and she's giving her flowers.

Lori (24:18.563)
Aww, so cute.

Kelli (24:20.09)
So cute.

Lori (24:22.028)
And Angie was loving it.

Wendy (24:22.43)
a hundred percent. She really was. And she.

Kelli (24:23.704)
Yeah. Especially because her daughter's age, it's like she doesn't want anything to do with her.

Lori (24:29.294)
Right, yeah, so you just missed that. Well, like I said, when I went to that festival and I had that little girl next to me, was like, aw, you know, she wanted to go everywhere with me. She wanted to hold my hand. So cute. Yeah. No, she's 26. I get nothing. Lucky I get to fuck you.

Wendy (24:29.779)
Yeah.

Kelli (24:39.8)
Yeah, imagine, imagine your daughter asking you to hold her hand.

Wendy (24:41.343)
That's sweet.

Kelli (24:46.952)
Nup.

Wendy (24:55.743)
So Angie's telling that Tanner that like going up there and just kind of sitting in the moment and enjoying the scenery is opposite of anything that she does. Like she doesn't live her life like that. She doesn't just, you know, enjoy. And she lives in a beautiful place as well. You know? She does. She does.

Lori (25:04.759)
Mm-hmm. Mm-mm.

Kelli (25:06.585)
Yeah.

Kelli (25:11.475)
That's right. And she has a beautiful view from her house.

Lori (25:11.575)
Right.

Right. Right. But it's about taking the time to stop and appreciate that view. You know, you can walk past it all you want, but unless you really are present in it.

Wendy (25:20.167)
Right, know that exactly.

Wendy (25:29.717)
So this is where Tanner explains to Angie why they decided to live this life, you know, about the rheumatoid arthritis and...

Hazel says to Angie, know, you gotta watch out for snakes. And Angie's like, are there snakes? And he's like, well, yeah, there's a fair amount of them. That would have, that probably would have freaked me out. I'm not gonna lie.

Kelli (25:51.181)
Yeah, me too.

Wendy (25:54.325)
Lindsay is deep cleaning Angie's house back at Angie's house while Electra and Sean are on the couch watching TV, just like we saw Angie doing, right? I mean, steaming t-shirts, that is a little much. I do, I don't know. She doesn't even know how to open.

Lori (26:15.331)
Yeah.

Kelli (26:15.456)
I hate to iron, so I will steam everything I possibly can just to avoid having to iron, but I would not steam a t-shirt. Like, if it's got some wrinkles, it's got some wrinkles. It'll work itself out.

Lori (26:26.168)
Well, thought is that if that's really how you like things, just have someone come and do your laundry and do it all. Like have people come in and do shit for you so that you don't have to.

Kelli (26:40.952)
It seems like she enjoys doing it though, Angie. Like it seems like...

Lori (26:44.374)
But does she or is she just like can't help herself and does it?

Wendy (26:47.817)
I think that's it. I think she can't help herself.

Lori (26:50.006)
You know what I mean? But I'm just saying like, farm some of the like, okay, all right, your OCD you want you to certainly farm that out and have somebody come in and do it. Have a housekeeper come every fucking day. You get afforded, have somebody come every day. And then you could be happy in your OCD-ness and fuck around with this or that a little bit.

Kelli (26:51.097)
Yeah.

Wendy (27:12.617)
Yeah, well maybe, maybe we'll see something like that in the future for her, you know? I thought it was funny when Lindsay said like she doesn't even know how to open, like she's never had a dishwasher and Shawn says you knock on it twice to open it. I've never heard of a dishwasher that you knock on to open either.

Lori (27:18.166)
Yeah.

Lori (27:30.221)
Nope, me neither.

Kelli (27:30.35)
Me neither. Me neither.

Wendy (27:35.701)
I mean, and Lindsay says cleaning your glasses is more important than sitting on the couch with your family. I agree. I totally agree.

Kelli (27:42.976)
I agree with that. I agree with that.

Wendy (27:46.739)
Then back in Idaho, Tanner chopped up the tail of a cow and made dinner.

Kelli (27:52.164)
That does not sound appetizing at all. It really doesn't sound appetizing at all.

Lori (27:53.067)
No!

Wendy (27:55.109)
No, no, doesn't. Nope.

Lori (28:01.006)
I mean, oxtail soup's supposed to be really good, but I don't want to eat.

Kelli (28:05.09)
I don't want to eat any tail.

Wendy (28:09.063)
Angie's afraid to try it, but she does. She said it's gritty and fatty and chewy. Yeah.

Kelli (28:13.784)
Yuck. All the things you don't want in meat.

Lori (28:17.806)
Yes, we're all together in one thing.

Wendy (28:18.27)
Yeah.

Kelli (28:20.73)
Thanks.

Wendy (28:21.141)
Angie asks if you guys get out much for dinner and they said no. So then it's 7.45, the children are getting ready for bed and Hazel likes the attention that Angie's giving her. Angie has not showered yet. I don't blame her.

Lori (28:22.189)
next.

Lori (28:41.688)
Well, know, too, the wife swap mom, what's her first name? Lindsay. You know, she's...

Wendy (28:46.963)
Lindsay.

Lori (28:51.314)
We have households that we have to run and clean and blah, blah, but she's got way more to do. You know, so she's, mean, yeah, I'm sure she's a good mom. She pays attention to her kids, but not undivided attention because she's got to clean the poop out of the toilet. You know, like she's got a, she's got a lot to do.

Kelli (28:58.138)
Hell yeah!

Kelli (29:07.843)
Right.

Kelli (29:11.566)
lugging fucking five gallons of water and...

Wendy (29:14.625)
Yeah, I mean, listen, and I'm not taking away from what she's doing, but does she go to work every day too? Because, you know, we go to work and we do all the other things. You know what I mean?

Lori (29:22.772)
Right, no, she doesn't, right, right, right, yeah. And we do the household stuff, right, right, right, yeah. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, I would imagine homeschool, yeah. Yeah.

Kelli (29:28.698)
Right. And I'm sure she homeschools her kids. I would imagine they're homeschooled, right? In that situation, yeah. So, I mean, you're getting, I mean, I know it's homeschooling and I personally could never do it, but she seems like a very capable person to do it. She's getting time with her kids that way too. Which to me would be genuine time.

Wendy (29:33.007)
I would imagine that they're homeschooled too.

Lori (29:47.51)
That way too, yeah. Yeah, but you know what I mean? When energy comes, it's a total focus on them.

Wendy (29:48.082)
Yeah. Yeah.

Kelli (29:55.387)
It's like she's on vacation. Yes. Yes.

Wendy (30:00.263)
sure it's like the grandmother thing, right? Like when grandma comes to visit, you know?

Lori (30:02.367)
Right. It's a grandma thing. Absolutely. Yes. Yes. Yes.

Kelli (30:04.428)
Right, right. All you have to worry about is paying attention to the kids.

Lori (30:08.482)
Well, listen, Angie gets to give them back. So that's how that works.

Kelli (30:11.488)
Exactly. Right.

Wendy (30:12.529)
Yes, exactly. Just like grandma. So day two, it's Lindsay's rules and Tanner's outside and he's like, I see something pink out there in the distance and it's Angie walking around the property and we see her on the porch cleaning her face with a bowl of water. So that's how she's cleaning up, which is perfectly fine.

Lori (30:14.318)
You guys like rap? Mm-hmm.

Lori (30:32.43)
Mm-hmm.

Yep, yep.

Kelli (30:35.77)
Hell yeah.

Wendy (30:38.525)
I thought it was so funny. He's like, I see something pink out there. That must be my wife. And then Angie's rules back in Salt Lake and Lindsay's sitting there getting her nails done at home. And once she's done with that, they're going to go to the gym and then the salon. And Shawn said, make sure you bring your sunglasses. And she's like, okay.

Lori (30:41.57)
Yeah, I think he said like pink and sparkly or something. Yeah. Or pink and shiny. think she had on like pink satin pajamas or something.

Kelli (30:44.303)
Yeah.

Kelli (31:08.986)
That was a great day.

Wendy (31:11.559)
So then Angie's like, where's the water so I can, you know, I can do the dishes. So.

Lindsay back in Salt Lake is like, her workout is hauling the five gallon pails. So that's what Angie has to do. So she's, know, lugging these five gallon pails of water up. And back in Salt Lake, Lindsay's like having a hard time biking and talking. And the trainer's like, well, Angie can bike and talk, but Angie's having a hard time with the water, which I'm sure Lindsay can do the water and talk, right? You know?

Lori (31:24.696)
Mm-hmm.

Kelli (31:24.974)
Yeah.

Lori (31:42.19)
fall in the water, Mm-hmm. Yeah, yeah.

Kelli (31:42.638)
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.

Wendy (31:46.677)
So it's just a matter of what you condition yourself for, right? And honestly, they both look like they're in good shape. Both Angie and Lindsay are in both in very good shape. Right.

Lori (31:49.442)
Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm.

Kelli (31:49.58)
Right, right.

Lori (31:52.913)
yeah.

Kelli (31:53.657)
If they're both doing those things every day, then they're both gonna be able to handle the other ones. Fitness, routine, you know, whatever.

Wendy (31:58.897)
Right. Right.

Lori (31:59.65)
Right. Yeah.

Wendy (32:02.134)
And then we see Lindsay gets her hair washed at the salon and Sean's blowing it out.

Lindsay tells Shawn that she checks her hair daily for ticks. She's paranoid about them. And like, Shawn looked a little startled by that. I know, I know. I think they're supposed to be good for you though. Yes, they're like healing, yes. Yeah, I agree. I mean, I don't want any part of it.

Kelli (32:14.658)
god, yeah.

Lori (32:19.47)
Yeah, it was like, oh.

Kelli (32:20.922)
How about the leeches in the beginning of the episode? Ugh. Yeah.

Lori (32:24.046)
Yeah, that was nasty.

Kelli (32:28.9)
leeches?

Lori (32:36.462)
That's what doctors used to do. in the 16, 17, yeah, they'd put, well, they'd do a couple of things. They'd bleed you. So they just would cut you and just let the blood come out just to bleed you that they thought that was a form of healing. Or they would put leeches on you because leeches suck your blood.

Wendy (32:41.107)
Yeah, I know. Yeah. They put them on open wounds.

Wendy (32:49.397)
Mm-hmm.

Lori (33:03.288)
that was how they were getting whatever infection you had in you out. Or like Wendy said, they would put them on open wounds because the leeches will eat, they'll eat the dead skin or any like necrotic skin or skin that's diseased in any way they'll eat. Are we done? You like that?

Wendy (33:07.081)
Mm-hmm.

Wendy (33:10.495)
for healing.

Mm-hmm.

Kelli (33:19.982)
All right, stop talking about it. I'm going to pass out. Seriously, I'm feeling like woozy now. It's like when I talk about needles in front of Joe.

Wendy (33:22.382)
Hahaha!

Lori (33:25.486)
Alright, sorry.

Mm-hmm.

Wendy (33:32.437)
So two hours before the rules change, Angie has to change the toilet.

Kelli (33:40.568)
the moment we've all been waiting for.

Wendy (33:43.163)
Yep. Yep. She does it though. She does it. She does it.

Lori (33:43.404)
Yep, yep, yep.

Kelli (33:44.558)
countdown was on that was it

Lori (33:46.552)
She does it. I love how she wings it and it goes on the guy's hood of his truck. That's great. So I guess she was putting it in the back of the truck. So I guess he takes it and puts it somewhere. Maybe buries it or something, buries it in those biodegradable bags.

Wendy (33:51.602)
You

Kelli (33:53.262)
Yeah.

Kelli (33:59.579)
okay. Okay.

Wendy (33:59.859)
He must. Yeah, yeah, he must.

Kelli (34:05.986)
Yeah. Yeah, that's probably what it is. They probably are biodegradable and then they bury them. Yeah.

Wendy (34:06.248)
Maybe. Who knows?

Lori (34:12.834)
and they bury them.

Wendy (34:16.095)
So, Lindsay's gonna switch things up and she has a fun night off the grid planned for Elektra and Sean in the backyard. No showers, no phones, or they're gonna be out, right, sleep in the tent. They're gonna be outside all night. Yep. Before the rules change, Angie does go to the hot springs.

Lori (34:29.87)
sleep in a tent.

Lori (34:34.476)
Have a fire.

Lori (34:44.76)
which looks very cool.

Wendy (34:46.331)
Yes, that does look cool. like to...

Kelli (34:46.424)
Mm-hmm that did yeah

Lori (34:48.27)
So they said they would wash there too. That would be my pick.

Kelli (34:51.32)
Yeah, that I would be, me too, me too. Not dirty bathwater.

Wendy (34:51.423)
Yeah.

Yes, me too. Right. And Angie announces that they're going to go, you know, after the hot springs, they're going to go, because it's going to be rules change, they're going to go out to dinner for something new for them. Then back in Utah, Lindsay has a log and some tents and some camping chairs outside and Sean's going to chop up the wood to start a fire and

Lori (34:56.707)
Not dirty, man.

Wendy (35:22.687)
They're outside trying to set up the tents and Elektra has her phone in her back pocket and Lindsey's like, can we just put this inside? Yep. And then back in Idaho, they're eating out to dinner at, I don't know where they were. They were eating at picnic tables outside someplace, but right. The kids are so excited to have milkshakes, like dessert. Like they never get dessert out. Like they never go out, let alone, you know.

Kelli (35:28.964)
No, I'll take that. Yeah.

Lori (35:40.364)
Yeah, the restaurant.

Kelli (35:45.178)
That was so cute.

That was so cute.

Lori (35:52.748)
Right, dessert, yeah.

Wendy (35:54.503)
Right. And Angie tells the kids that tonight Nana's going to watch you guys and so that Tanner can take out Angie and

Kelli (36:02.486)
my god, they were so funny.

Wendy (36:05.097)
Her oldest son was like, what about mom? Like you're gonna cheat on mom? It's so funny. He's so protective of his mom. I love that. I seriously love that. Because even when Angie left, Tanner said, you know, love you. And he's like, what about mom? Yeah. No, love her like a friend. Yeah.

Kelli (36:09.987)
You

Lori (36:10.316)
Yeah, yeah, right.

Kelli (36:14.212)
That was really funny.

Kelli (36:18.744)
Yep. Yep.

Lori (36:18.936)
So thank you.

Lori (36:25.644)
Yeah, what are you doing? Right? He's like, cuz a friend.

Kelli (36:26.906)
You

Wendy (36:31.606)
So funny, I love that he's so protective of his mom. I really do.

Kelli (36:34.274)
Yeah, that was really cute.

Lori (36:34.52)
Well, you know, you wonder too, I don't know how long they've been doing this, but you know, if they've done it since the kids were, you know, the boys were smaller, they might not have seen their father actually have a platonic relationship with anybody. Maybe their only female interaction is family and their mother. So to them, maybe it's like, you know.

Kelli (36:51.8)
Right.

Wendy (36:52.084)
Right.

Wendy (36:56.212)
Right.

Kelli (37:01.198)
Right, right.

Lori (37:02.274)
That could be part of it. That's what I thought, at least.

Wendy (37:02.868)
Yeah.

Wendy (37:07.167)
Then back in Utah, Lindsey's teaching them how to clean a fish and Mary stops by for a visit. Love that.

Kelli (37:13.978)
She filleted the hell out of that fish. She gutted that thing.

Lori (37:15.406)
So great.

Wendy (37:18.102)
She did, but the look on Mary's face when she saw what was happening, I was like, my gosh, I so love that moment.

Lori (37:20.44)
Priceless. Priceless.

Kelli (37:26.274)
Yeah, that was cute. They had Mary show up.

Wendy (37:29.141)
She's like, I don't need to see the fish gutted, the babies. I don't need to see the placenta. I'm like, Mary, there's no placenta.

Kelli (37:38.872)
Alright.

Lori (37:39.416)
How funny.

Wendy (37:45.254)
Then Lindsay's telling Mary, know, we have no running water. And Mary's like, I think we need to go rescue Angie.

Lori (37:50.515)
And do you have rescuers?

Yeah, she was ready to rescue Elektra too. It's funny.

Kelli (37:55.13)
Hmm

Wendy (37:58.769)
Yes, she was. I actually thought she was going to rescue her, but she wound up staying. I really thought she was going to leave with Mary. Angie's like, you know, she loves Hazel. She loves doing the girly things and, you know, doing her hair.

Kelli (37:59.322)
Yeah.

Kelli (38:04.963)
Yeah.

Wendy (38:16.341)
I loved how Lindsay said to Sean, like, did you read the letter? And he's like, no. And she's like, well, you really should read the letter because she talks about like all the upkeep of the house and, you know, how she doesn't feel appreciated. And Sean thinks that Angie's nagging and perfectionism comes from a good place, but he wants to get better at letting her know she's seen.

Lori (38:21.23)
Mm-hmm.

Kelli (38:45.56)
Yeah, like he definitely acknowledged it. But what Lindsay was saying, he acknowledged it. Which listen, of all the house husbands, Sean's probably one of the best. So if he can even, well, I mean, he's the number one guy in all the groups. But I mean, if he can even acknowledge that he can work on his appreciation for his wife, then that's.

Wendy (38:45.747)
Like, and I get that. Yeah. Yeah. Like.

Lori (38:55.98)
Yes.

Wendy (38:58.515)
Well, what about Joe Gorga? We, yes. Okay. Okay.

Lori (39:13.976)
Mm-hmm.

Kelli (39:14.66)
To me that says a lot, know, because it seems like they have a very good relationship, you know, helping each other. You know, they really seem to work like a team.

Lori (39:22.957)
Yes.

was hoping that Electra would miss her mom a little more, but I think that would have taken a lot more time. Yeah, taken a lot more time. And she's

Kelli (39:30.178)
It was only two days. Yeah. It was only two days. Yeah.

Wendy (39:35.477)
And she's 14. I mean...

Kelli (39:37.848)
And you figured the first day they're going by Angie's rules, so really it was only one day. They were, you know.

Lori (39:42.284)
Day, Yeah.

Wendy (39:45.575)
Yeah. So then.

Kelli (39:47.16)
and then the dog pees on the tent.

Lori (39:49.036)
That's great. I loved it.

Wendy (39:50.161)
Yeah, so funny. Then back in Idaho, Angie and Tanner pull up to this bar and Tanner said, she is the fanciest person to ever walk in this place. And that's when Angie mentions her Givenchy boots.

Kelli (40:01.954)
Yeah, that was nice.

Lori (40:05.334)
Yeah. And don't you, I loved how the, the dog was sitting on the bar stool. It's fucking awesome. Awesome. come on. He was sitting on the bar stool. it was great. There was a dog in the bar sitting, sitting on, and he was a big ass dog. It was not some little dog and he was sitting on the bar stool right at the bar. It was awesome. And Angie looks so cute in her little tassled cowboy outfit. Cute.

Kelli (40:05.944)
Yeah, nobody noticed her G-Von-T.

Kelli (40:12.57)
didn't even notice that. I must have looked down and was typing something, damn it. A real dog sitting on a bar stool.

Kelli (40:24.62)
Marmaduke.

Kelli (40:28.708)
Bonnie.

Wendy (40:32.479)
She looks adorable. Angie looks adorable. Givenchy boots and all. I love how she got him out on the dance floor and she was showing him how to pick up a shot glass from the floor with her mouth.

Kelli (40:38.03)
Yes.

Lori (40:44.236)
I told you that's what the Greeks have to do. The Greek dancers at the Greek festival, there's all the children have to go for Greek dancing. They have to go for Greek lessons to talk Greek and they have to do Greek dancing. And that's one of the things that the children do, not the girls, but the boys, the older dancers, they do, they have to pick up a shot of ouzo and then they also have to dance with it on their forehead.

Kelli (40:44.567)
Yes.

Kelli (41:12.908)
I have to ask Tess if her friends, the twins do this.

Wendy (41:13.429)
On their forehead?

Lori (41:14.26)
Yes, you've got to come to the Greek festivals. Awesome. It's so good. It's so good.

Wendy (41:17.981)
Okay, I'm gonna have to come next time. I would like to see this.

Kelli (41:19.758)
Yeah, I love when he said Tanner said to her, where did you come from?

Wendy (41:25.491)
Exactly.

Lori (41:25.646)
So cute. Cute. It's great.

Wendy (41:33.813)
So day three, it's 7.45 AM. In Utah, they ended up going inside to sleep at 12.42. They gave up.

Kelli (41:43.194)
I wonder if it got cold. Do you think it got cold over, is it like Colorado where it's like, that's what I was thinking.

Lori (41:47.342)
I would think it would get a little cool. Yeah, I would think it would get a little cool.

Wendy (41:54.261)
Well, Lindsay even admitted, like to be honest, like the tents were a little small. There was no pads. Like she was happy to go, you know, inside. But the next day they're gonna build a garden outside and she's gonna have a lecture and Shawn helps. So she gets like, what is that? Like a flower box, like a raised garden box. Yeah. And...

Kelli (41:59.023)
Yeah.

Lori (41:59.438)
There's no padding, right.

Kelli (42:16.922)
Yeah, garden box, yeah.

Lori (42:17.784)
Mm-hmm.

Wendy (42:20.885)
They're outside doing it and a lecturer is participating, but she's like, you know what? I would enjoy doing this if it was 65 degrees, not 95. I mean, okay. It's a 14 year old. You know, like these are typical 14 year old comments.

Kelli (42:30.732)
Agreed.

Kelli (42:34.328)
Yeah. Yeah.

Lori (42:37.121)
Absolutely.

Wendy (42:40.157)
Angie says back in Idaho, I didn't know this experience would be such a blessing with my heels and my mini skirt and my high body count hair. I love that she said that. Spending. No, but I love that. But I mean, you know, I love that she threw that in. really did. Yeah.

Lori (42:52.952)
Mm-hmm, mm-hmm.

Kelli (42:55.002)
She does not have high body count hair. But okay. Yeah. Yeah.

Lori (43:01.336)
But it was done, it was blow dried, was straightened, it was looking all perfect. I think that's what she kind of

Kelli (43:03.82)
Yes.

Wendy (43:06.845)
Yeah, yeah. She's like spending time with them, seeing how hard they work and how they live in nature. Like she said, I'm leaving a better person. And I believe that. I believe that she really, I really do. And she said, even standing there with her bare face and she didn't have any makeup on and she's beautiful. She's beautiful.

Kelli (43:17.432)
Yeah, I do too.

Lori (43:21.164)
I mean, listen.

She didn't have any makeup on. Beautiful. Yeah. But you know what? There's no way you could take it away from her. She handled everything with such grace and never judged them and was just so... Just... She's got to be a nice person. I don't think anybody can fake that.

Kelli (43:47.321)
Right.

Wendy (43:49.799)
No, I totally agree with you. I totally agree with you.

Kelli (43:51.695)
Yeah.

Those glasses she gave those kids were hideous. my God.

Wendy (43:57.429)
She loves the Greek. She loves the Greek. She loves it. She can't help it.

Lori (43:57.431)
her Greek ones.

Kelli (44:01.465)
I mean, I'm happy that she, you know, celebrates her heritage, those, mean, if you're gonna give them sunglasses, give them, you know, practical sunglasses that they can actually use.

Lori (44:13.292)
No, but she was about being non-practical. That was kind of the point, you know? Let them have something non-practical.

Kelli (44:15.062)
I know.

Wendy (44:17.406)
Yeah.

Kelli (44:20.91)
Yeah, that's true. That's true. Their whole life is practical.

Lori (44:23.571)
their whole life. So I think that's where she was probably going with that.

Kelli (44:26.018)
Yeah, you're right, you're right. But like I said, if you didn't love Angie before, you're definitely loving her after this. That's right. That's right. That's right. We're not friends.

Wendy (44:28.967)
Even Tanner.

Lori (44:34.07)
And if you don't love her now, there's something wrong with you.

Wendy (44:36.847)
yes, yes, exactly. If you don't love Angie now, you're not our friend. That's it. We're not friends. Tanner was even crying when she was leaving and he said, you know what? We are so different, but we're so similar. He's like, it's interesting because we hardly even know each other, but like she was very open with him. Like she really spoke to him. Like, like just...

Lori (44:41.645)
That's it. That's it.

Kelli (44:47.608)
Yeah.

Kelli (45:00.986)
She listened to him.

Wendy (45:02.099)
you listen to him like you know it's just you could see that there was a real connection there you really could see that I don't know I just love so much about this I really did

Kelli (45:07.204)
Yeah.

Kelli (45:14.51)
And then the wives were so sweet with each other when they met up. Do you know that they, so the flicks went to Angie's house for the watch party. And I guess Heather was there, because Heather got to meet them. Yeah. So cute. Yep.

Lori (45:14.742)
I thought it was great.

Lori (45:24.302)
So sweet.

Wendy (45:24.633)
Yes. Yes, I saw that. I saw that. Love that. I love that. I love that. hope, I'm so excited for next week's with Melissa and Joe. I can't wait for that one. Angie, when she gets back and she meets Lindsay, she says to Shawn, you know, since my swap sons aren't here, I need you to go outside and get the bags for me.

Lori (45:29.772)
Yeah, so nice.

Kelli (45:36.057)
Yeah.

Lori (45:37.346)
Yeah, that should be fun too.

Kelli (45:38.863)
for sure.

Lori (45:49.624)
Let the markets ya-

Kelli (45:54.682)
That was funny.

Wendy (45:57.703)
And Angie even admitted that, you know, when she pulled up to Lindsay's house and she saw like how they lived and how they bathed and that we bathed outside that she like felt, she was felt bad for them. But then when she saw like the joy and the love, she was crying that she even felt that way, that she even had that feeling. Yeah, that she's like, you know, I shouldn't, you know, she felt guilty and she shouldn't because it's, you know, it's, it's what her natural reaction was, but.

Lori (46:15.532)
Yes.

Kelli (46:15.652)
Yeah. She was embarrassed. Yeah.

Lori (46:25.324)
Right.

Wendy (46:26.301)
She took the time to really see what it was all about.

And Lindsay admitted, which I thought was, she's like, I thought I'd be sitting by a pool and drinking margaritas. But your life isn't easy either. And like we said, she's getting up early and she's doing a full day of work as well. It's just different, right? And we know getting ready isn't easy. It's a lot of work putting on the makeup and the hair and...

Lori (46:40.526)
Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm.

Lori (46:48.002)
Right. Different work. Right.

Kelli (46:49.338)
Right. Right.

Lori (46:54.228)
Mm-hmm. the whole thing,

Kelli (46:57.188)
We can, especially when you work at a salon or own the salon, like you have to. You have to.

Lori (47:01.494)
Yeah, right. can't go in looking like a, you know, like a bum. No, there's no.

Wendy (47:04.902)
No, no, you can't.

Kelli (47:05.238)
Right, like some days I wake up when I'm going to the office and I'm like, I don't feel good. I'm not putting makeup on and I'm putting my hair up in a bun. You know, when you own a salon, you cannot do that. Yeah.

Lori (47:10.88)
Right, right, right, right. You got to be on all the time. Right. So we'll see what next episode is, but it looks good. It was a lot of fun.

Wendy (47:18.634)
Yeah.

Kelli (47:25.08)
Yeah, I'm here for it. They are gonna air Wendy's.

Wendy (47:26.589)
It was a lot of fun. Lindsay... I know. On a Sunday though, which is weird, but I don't care. I'm glad they're going to air it. Lindsay admitted that...

Kelli (47:34.094)
Yeah. Well, they're probably gonna put it on after Potomac, because this was on after Salt Lake.

Wendy (47:39.646)
yeah, you're right.

Lori (47:40.433)
there you go.

Kelli (47:42.584)
I don't know where Melissa's will be on. Right, I don't know what, Tuesday, okay.

Wendy (47:42.997)
But it's on next week, next Tuesday.

Lori (47:44.94)
Next week. Hers is next week. Yeah, there's no... Yeah.

Wendy (47:49.237)
It's gonna be on after Salt Lake.

Kelli (47:50.701)
Okay, all right. And then I would assume Wendy's, right. So you said Wendy's will be on probably after Potomac. And then Emily's I'm sure will be on after an OC. Do you know that next week is the season finale of OC already?

Wendy (47:57.833)
Right.

Wendy (48:04.283)
no, I didn't know that.

Kelli (48:05.292)
Somebody put it on our, somebody commented on one of our posts. I didn't know it either.

Wendy (48:09.705)
I mean... Yeah, I didn't know that.

Kelli (48:12.738)
Yeah, but it lines up because I think Beverly Hills is starting soon.

Wendy (48:15.421)
Yeah. Yeah. Okay. I was going to say, so Lindsay admitted that she's definitely sure that living off the grid is the lifestyle for her after doing this, but she wouldn't mind using a bidet every now and then. And Angie admitted that she uses the outdoor garden, but she's still going to get her olive oil shipped in from Greece, which doesn't surprise me.

Kelli (48:30.575)
haha

Lori (48:31.438)
There you go.

Lori (48:42.03)
There you go.

Kelli (48:42.19)
Yeah. I think that running, if they just had running water, like that would make a world of a difference. But I don't know, I guess I would assume they're choosing not to. I mean.

Lori (48:48.962)
It'll be an easier swallow for you. Yeah.

Wendy (48:56.851)
Well, I think they're choosing not to because it's not that easy. Because you got it. You have to get pipes. No, no, not a plumber. You got to get pipes for the nearest neighbors four miles away. You can't live in the middle of nowhere. Not a plumber. You'd need to, I mean, you'd have to tie into like city water or get a well or right. Like you'd have to get like a well driller and like it. Yeah. Yeah. Like, yeah.

Kelli (48:59.691)
Right.

Plumber yeah, yeah exactly that would be a huge job

Kelli (49:09.644)
Right, but a plumber would have to come do that for you. I mean, maybe he could do it.

Lori (49:16.794)
There is no city. No, no, no, there is no city water. Yeah You'd have to get a well and then all the plumbing and then the septic tank and the whole the whole thing

Kelli (49:16.954)
Yeah, but that's what I'm saying. Somebody has to do it for you.

Wendy (49:27.483)
Yeah. Yeah. Like I can't even imagine what that would cost, you know? Although there is a hot spring.

Lori (49:35.342)
Yeah, I'm with you. I'm not with you though, Kelly. I could do it, but I think having a well would be the game changer. I'm with you on that one. That's right. Right. And then, you know, I don't know, because a lot of people who go off grid, I didn't see that they had it or they didn't say, they'll have like a water collection system for like when it rains. And then they keep it on the roof so that it

Kelli (49:44.344)
yeah, then it would be like, okay, this is doable.

Lori (50:03.598)
you know, the sun heats it up and then you could use that water too for different things. But I, you know, nobody made, they might have that, but nobody made mention of that. So you do that, the composting toilet and a well, okay, okay, yeah.

Wendy (50:13.192)
Yeah.

Kelli (50:19.002)
All right, we'll talk, we'll talk.

Wendy (50:21.173)
Okay, until next time, thank you for watching and listening. Please subscribe and give us five star reviews. Bye.

Kelli (50:30.574)
Bye.

Lori (50:31.48)
Bye.
