RHONY S16 E2 Much Ado About Brunching
Carole is officially back in New York, and she’s settling into her new old life after spending the last eight years focused on writing. Her apartment renovation even turned her kitchen into an office before she eventually turned it back into a kitchen—and now her office is basically her car, where she parks like a professional while working around the street sweeper. We learn that Erika met Carole through Martha Stewart, because apparently everyone on this show is connected through Martha. Carole also gets the exciting news that her book is back on the New York Times bestseller list thanks to renewed interest surrounding the Love Story documentary about John F. Kennedy Jr. and Carolyn Bessette. Meanwhile, Erin and Abe discover that their Sag Harbor home has been devastated by a burst pipe, with their bedroom destroyed, mold already present, and even the wall where they tracked their children’s heights potentially needing to be torn out. It’s especially heartbreaking because the house holds so many memories of Erin’s late father.
Erika, who apparently has a WWE past, is now teaching at Equinox, while Daisy decides she wants to cheer Sai up and organizes a brunch with the group. There’s plenty of speculation about what is going on with Sai, who is clearly dealing with some major personal and financial issues, although she says her story is hers to tell. Before the brunch, Hailey has plenty to say about Erin, calling her boring and comparing her to strawberry jam—something that’s just sitting on the table and nobody really cares about. At the brunch, the conversation takes a turn when Daisy reads a flirty text from her son’s tutor and admits she doesn’t really know how to establish the boundary that she’s married. Jessel correctly points out that the tutor’s message sounds like Daisy is leading him on, and honestly, Daisy might want to figure that boundary out sooner rather than later. Then Erin gives Sai a genuinely sweet toast, but the mood quickly shifts when the women discuss Erin and Jessel’s fractured friendship. Erin apologizes for talking about Jessel, but the broken-nose story comes up too, and suddenly it feels like an Erin pile-on.
And then Carole arrives and accidentally gets pulled straight into the drama. Erin is furious when Carole reveals that she has called Jessel obnoxious, desperate, and thirsty, especially because she considers Carole a friend. Erin also brings up Jessel allegedly being rude to her dermatologist, but the flashback shows Jessel simply saying she doesn’t think they’ve met before—hardly a crime. Sai is understandably like, hello, I thought this brunch was supposed to be about me! Once the drama settles down, Daisy wants to talk to Carole about Carolyn Bessette, and Jessel starts asking increasingly uncomfortable questions about whether Carolyn was a bitch, her minimalist style, and whether the Kennedy family is cursed. Carole understandably decides she has had enough and leaves before things get even more awkward. Then the burlesque show begins, and Erin immediately whispers to Daisy that Jessel is a clout chaser—literally moments after apologizing for talking shit about her. So much for turning over a new leaf

Kelli (00:00.834)
Hi, welcome to Be One Whenever, I'm Kelly.
Lori (00:03.164)
and I'm Lori.
Kelli (00:05.134)
Tonight we're talking about Real Housewives of New York, season sixteen, episode two, much ado about brunching.
Lori (00:12.665)
Mm-hmm.
Kelli (00:14.178)
Before we start, I just want to bring something up. I listened to Kim D's Patreon with Dana Wilkie. If you are on Kim D's Patreon, I highly, highly suggest the episode from September fifteenth. She does talk they do talk about KJ Beerman, and some of the things they say we haven't heard before and it's very disturbing. I'm not getting into it.
Lori (00:37.342)
Kelli (00:43.668)
I don't want anything to do with this KJ Beerman story because quite honestly, it shocks me that we're hearing so much and that so much is on social media. He is a juvenile. Now I understand from what I understand in the state of Georgia, the and I don't want to really get into this, but the allegations against him, he'll be tried as an adult, which is why
Lori (00:45.758)
to deal with it.
Lori (01:01.406)
Right.
Kelli (01:12.6)
This situation is out for public consumption. But the things they're bringing up, other things in s on social media that they're bringing up, he's a juvenile. And it's shocking to me that we're privy to this information. I don't want to know anymore. But anyway, if you're interested in that story, Kim D and Dana Wilkie talk about that. They talk about Haley from Real Housewives of New York because.
Lori (01:16.431)
because, okay.
Kelli (01:40.729)
Kim D is very good friends with her parents. And Kim D does not like the fact that she's basically throwing her mother under the bus. She's saying that what she's saying about John Gossel, her mother pushing her towards date John Gosslin, not true. Kim D's calling Haley out on some untruths. Very interesting. And she also talks about Real House was of New Jersey, obviously, because that's her bread and butter. And basically, things aren't good. The new season of Jersey.
Lori (01:56.638)
Mm-hmm.
Lori (02:00.547)
okay.
Kelli (02:10.648)
We're lucky if we get nine or ten episodes 'cause it's not good. Yep. So it's a really good Patreon episode though, September fifteenth with Kim D and Dana Wilk.
Lori (02:13.991)
Wow.
Lori (02:22.525)
Okay, okay.
Kelli (02:24.258)
Yeah. So anyway, let's get into New York. I did write down their taglines. I didn't write them down. I Googled them, copied and pasted them into my notes.
Lori (02:32.625)
Very good. All right, so what are they?
Kelli (02:36.57)
Daisy's in my line of work I charge extra for two faces because she's a makeup artist. Jessels, it's not my fault you can't tell an accent from an attitude. Haley Glassman, when they go low, I get high.
Lori (02:44.157)
That was a good one.
Lori (02:49.948)
Okay.
Lori (02:55.515)
Very good.
Kelli (02:56.856)
Probably my favorite. Even though I hate how she's leaning in with this getting high, but size, Manhattan gave me the address, but Brooklyn gave me the attitude. Erica, the billionaire's wife, friendships come and go, tacos, they're forever. Now we've had another reference to tacos in a tagline, and that was by Emily Simpson. So I'm assuming we're gonna see something about tacos with Erica.
Lori (03:09.072)
Okay.
Lori (03:18.269)
Let's have a talk,
Lori (03:25.871)
Okay.
Kelli (03:27.06)
Aaron in New York, secrets are currency and honey, I am a rich.
Lori (03:33.745)
That's pretty spot on for her.
Kelli (03:35.99)
It's very spot on for her.
Lori (03:38.673)
And I'm asking you what they were because I fast forwarded it.
Kelli (03:41.999)
Carol's, which I stand by this, her dress in the beginning, horrible. Horrible. But her tagline is amazing. Carol, I may be a boomer, but I still got a great ass. And I'm shocked that she's a boomer. I'd like to know how old she is. Cause you guys are Gen X. You and Wendy.
Lori (04:02.781)
Well, Google it. yes. Yes. But I want to ask you this. I want to know how old do you think that woman Haley is?
Kelli (04:14.785)
we've already talked about this. I I I would have guessed fifty and she's what, thirty nine?
Lori (04:16.134)
you did? Who talked to it? Who talked about it? Me and you?
Kelli (04:22.934)
I thought we talked about it. Maybe I heard it on a podcast. She's thirty nine, right?
Lori (04:24.293)
No, I heard it on, I heard on a podcast, yeah.
Kelli (04:29.89)
She looks fifty.
Kelli (04:35.602)
no, I'm sorry. I did hear it on a podcast because I was listening to Reality Court and Anna Kinkosis and Kim D were talking about it and Anna said that she looks like Marisol. She's got that Marisol face.
Lori (04:48.826)
Yeah
Kelli (04:52.13)
Well, we finally see Carol and we start out with her walking in the street and getting into her car. And she says in her confessional, I can't believe I'm back. So for the last eight years she got back into writing and it feels great. She renovated her apartment again. She turned her kitchen into her office and then turned it back into a kitchen. And now her office is in her car.
Lori (05:17.904)
At first I was thinking...
Lori (05:24.541)
desk in your living room? do you mean your office is in your car? But then as the scene went on I was like okay I get it now. But in the beginning I was like what?
Kelli (05:30.974)
Yes, exactly. I know. Erica comes over to Carol's and they met each other through Martha Stewart. Martha Stewart is playing a very big role in this season of Real Housewives of New York.
Lori (05:41.169)
Yeah, it's very like, yeah, very Martha- Marthaed up.
Kelli (05:46.359)
It's very interesting. So they met through Martha. They're having a coffee date in Carol's car because two days a week in the city, the street sweeper comes. So you have to sit in your car. And when the street sweeper comes, you pull out of your good spot. And then as soon as he leaves, you pull right back in. And man, she did. And she almost ran into that guy trying to take that spot.
Lori (06:13.123)
she was like, it's not happening. I'm going. So you had best move. And that's a very New York thing with that whole parking and opposite side of the street parking thing. Yeah.
Kelli (06:21.324)
This was the most New York thing we have ever seen on Real Housewives of New York. And we're on what what season? We're on season sixteen. This was the very most New York thing we've ever seen.
Lori (06:27.687)
So yeah, yeah.
Lori (06:32.189)
All
New Yorkish. Yeah.
Kelli (06:39.096)
So
Kelli (06:45.388)
Yeah, so basically Erica's saying how she knows everybody and it's through Martha. Carol, Erin, and Daisy. Yeah, car she knows Carol, Erin, and Daisy through Martha. So Carol's editor calls her while she's sitting in the car. What a coincidence. because of the love story documentary that came out about JFK Jr. and Caroline Bissett. Carol and
Carol's book is back on the New York Times bestsellers list, which is crazy. Cause she wrote that book a long time ago. I actually I think I'm gonna get the book. I think I'm gonna put it on my Spotify and listen to it. Yeah. and Carol says she went out on a date with a guy and and then matched with another guy on Raya, and they both had auditioned to play her husband in the movie. That is so funny.
Lori (07:18.949)
Yeah, number 12, right? that? A long time ago.
Yeah, I'd like to read it. I'd like to read it.
Lori (07:41.405)
So I guess he passed away, her husband.
Kelli (07:44.569)
Yeah, so that was her book. They weren't even married that long, I don't think. He right shortly I don't know how long they were together total, but shortly after they got married, he was diagnosed with cancer and he died. That's what her book's about. It's called What Remains. And he was JFK Junior's cousin. I believe he was
Lori (07:51.335)
Mm-hmm.
Lori (08:00.317)
okay. Right, and I think, I guess Caroline was a very good friend of hers.
Kelli (08:07.714)
Yes, they were best friends. So Lynn, I believe Lynn Radzewell is Jacqueline Kennedy's sister.
So JFK Junior's mother and Carol's husband's mother were sisters. I believe I believe Radziwell is Jackie Kennedy's sister. I I could be wrong, but I think.
Lori (08:30.009)
Okay. Okay.
Kelli (08:35.022)
But she pulled back into that spot like a pro, man.
Lori (08:38.431)
hell yeah.
Kelli (08:42.284)
Then we see Erin and Abe are driving to Sag Harbor.
Lori (08:47.207)
Yes, to the Hamptons.
Kelli (08:49.378)
Just in case you didn't dislike Erin enough, you're gonna really dislike her after this.
Lori (08:53.265)
Now you can really, now you can really dislike.
Kelli (08:56.812)
She got a frantic phone call from her real estate agent the morning of Jessel's party that they had a burst pipe in their bedroom ceiling in their Sag Harbor house and the entire house was flooded. I mean, the house is in bad shape. That was a lot of damage.
Lori (09:14.993)
But it, but right, but it must have been the AC because that's the only pipe that's in a ceiling that has anything to do with water. Water does, you know, unless she's got, unless it, well, she does have another, I was thinking her bedroom was on the top floor when she said that it was in the ceiling of her bedroom, but it was on the ground floor. it could have been, so it could have been a plumbing pipe, but
Kelli (09:21.026)
Right.
Kelli (09:25.997)
Right.
Kelli (09:40.771)
Main floor.
Lori (09:45.391)
I mean, it was only one side of the house.
And yes, it was a lot of damage, but girl, you have insurance.
And it's your second home, so I'm a little low on this empathy.
Kelli (10:05.239)
when she said that the architect she called, it might not have happened yet.
Lori (10:11.887)
No, it didn't happen yet, but that's okay. We can skip. I wrote down the same exact thing. I was like, girl, he did not say that to you. house do not come. No.
Kelli (10:20.056)
He compared her house to a house in New Orleans that was affected by Katrina. Get the fuck out of here. The amount of damage and hardship on that area from Hurricane Katrina, people were homeless. People were dying. Get the fuck out of here. You fucking princess.
Lori (10:25.196)
Now,
out of here. Yeah.
Lori (10:32.463)
and horror yet don't ever compare.
Lori (10:39.727)
Right? Yeah. And you know what else was really bad about that? You know what else was really bad about that? Is that it doesn't make any sense. Okay? You would never call your architect. Your architect has nothing to do with it. Your architect designs a home and plans a home. Maybe you called a structural engineer or maybe you called your architect like a dummy so he could give you a structural engineer's phone number.
because the architect has nothing to do with it. So I don't even know what you're talking, you don't even know what you're talking about.
Kelli (11:13.995)
You're right. And the only reason you would be doing that is if you're gonna change the structure of the house. Not if you're gonna just fix what's broke. Like you're gonna start knocking walls down. We're talking about something else now, Aaron. We're not talking about damage from a burst pipe. We're talking about you wanting to change the aesthetics of your home. I mean, when she made that Katrina reference, I'm like, wow, you really want people to.
Lori (11:20.603)
Right, and you're not. Yeah, no.
Lori (11:27.355)
Yeah, No, she's out of our mind.
Lori (11:35.289)
I was like, just stop it. Yeah. I was like, do you need to stop?
Kelli (11:41.592)
To hate you.
Lori (11:43.057)
Yeah, you need to stop.
Kelli (11:45.004)
Wild
So then we see Erica is at the Equinox gym. She's an instructor there. She was in the WWE. This is so interesting because so was Carmella from OC.
Lori (11:58.366)
I love her!
Yes. I like her. I like this chick, Erica. I like her.
Kelli (12:04.49)
I love that. Me too. she launched a workout program and partnered with Equinox. Daisy and Haley are there. Haley looks high as hell.
Lori (12:17.263)
or hungover something.
Kelli (12:17.73)
Daisy is working out vigorously with a hoodie on.
Lori (12:22.364)
Yes.
Kelli (12:24.046)
so they do the workout, kind of. And then afterwards the three of them are talking, and Daisy says she wants to take Sai out because she's been down, and they ask what's going on, and she says it's Sai's story to tell. Why is this a big secret? So you're right. So I looked it up. Even y I know you said it last week, but but I'm thinking in my head, why is this a big secret? They started the
Lori (12:27.441)
kind of.
Kelli (12:50.454)
They started filming the season on March second, twenty twenty six. Sai filed for divorce on April second, twenty twenty six. She was already separated. Why is this a big secret?
Lori (12:59.069)
That's what I said.
But that the whole, that whole scene was very staged.
Kelli (13:03.277)
I don't get it.
Kelli (13:06.827)
Absolutely.
Absolutely. Daisy wants to plan something for Sai, and Erica wants to invite Carol, and then they discuss inviting both Jessel and Erin. Haley says Erin does talk a lot of shit, and she even repeated to Alison her date that evening, the broken nose story.
And I love how Haley is looking for sympathy that Erin may be causing trouble in her relationship with Allison when she's married to a man.
Lori (13:42.979)
I told you she did say lavender marron.
Kelli (13:46.7)
Yeah, she did. And she said it again here. Yeah.
Lori (13:47.88)
She did say, she did, yeah. How do you like when she says, Erin is jam, she's boring, and Hailey said she'd rather read a book and that Erin's too vanilla?
Kelli (14:01.57)
I'd rather read Carol's book.
Lori (14:03.933)
Yeah. But now I didn't like this. I did not like this. In confessional, Daisy says, boring. I'd rather be called a bad mom than boring. I was like, what? What? I was like, girl, what?
Kelli (14:05.236)
Jajks.
Kelli (14:20.042)
I totally agree with you. yeah.
Kelli (14:26.21)
Yeah. Well I like Daisy, but I think we see at the brunch when she's reading those text messages that she's a little checked out of her situation. Yeah. We'll get
Lori (14:31.738)
my god. And that's, we'll get to that, but that's a whole, that's a very odd relationship. That's weird. Yeah.
Kelli (14:41.818)
greed. So we're at Sai's apartment. She's talking to someone, I'm assuming her attorney or but or maybe a forensic accountant. She probably has one of those about assets and expenses. So she's getting her financial ducks in a row for her separation. And she's worried about what David might want in this divorce. So I'm assuming that Daisy's clearly the breadwinner.
Lori (14:52.635)
Right.
Lori (15:03.314)
Mm-hmm.
Lori (15:09.89)
sigh, sigh. That's okay. It's nice. Yeah.
Kelli (15:10.326)
And yes, I'm sorry. Cy is clearly the breadwinner and David's gonna be looking for some alimony checks.
Lori (15:19.997)
Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm.
Kelli (15:23.586)
Then we're at Daisy's apartment and her husband is studying with her son. She says Eugene is more structured and then they show him correcting her about shutting the window and closing the door. And listen, girl, I can relate. I got the same shit going on over here. But
You know.
She might
Lori (15:46.621)
She like she needs a lot of looking after though.
Kelli (15:51.989)
I agree. Like is she like is she like flighty where it's like I left the window open You know what I mean? And is that why he's like that it's annoying nonetheless that he's like, Did you do this? Did you do that? 'Cause again, I live with somebody like that and it's fucking annoying.
Lori (16:05.947)
yeah, yeah.
Right. But it's very, he's like a little, it's very, it's like he's her dad. It's weird. And then you, and then you put that together with the fact that she's keeping wine in the kid's room and I'm like.
Kelli (16:15.17)
Yes, it's a very
Lori (16:23.965)
Remember that from last episode? She had her wine coolers in his fridge. Don't tell dad my wine.
Kelli (16:24.054)
Yeah. Yes. Yes. Yeah. It's a it does seem like a more paternal relationship.
Lori (16:33.285)
Yeah, it just seems very... It's just odd.
Kelli (16:39.052)
Yeah, and they're trying to schedule a date night and it seems a little difficult with their schedules. She said, because he's a hairstylist, yeah, he's got his regulars, you know, he works a certain you know, he he works, you know, eight to seven, whatever, and then he's done for the day. And her schedule's not like that. Like, you know
Lori (16:53.19)
Right, right.
Lori (16:58.939)
What I kind of gleaned from it was that she's at Martha Stewart's Beckencall. So if Martha Stewart says, I forgot to tell you, next week we got to go to Morocco for two weeks. She's got to be like, okay. And maybe, you know, maybe she, maybe Martha doesn't give her a lot of.
Kelli (17:06.487)
I that's what it sounds like.
Lori (17:27.229)
and heads up on things. Maybe she just considers it like a given, like, you know, even though she's got a kid and a husband, she's just like, well, you I'm just gonna tell her when we're going and then we go.
Kelli (17:29.12)
I'm sure she doesn't.
Kelli (17:40.876)
Yeah, the money's the money.
Lori (17:43.142)
Right. But you know, listen, that's, that's something where you got to decide about shit like that. okay, is the money that important? Or do you need to be that person from the very beginning who's like, love you, Martha, love the job, but I got a husband and a kid sets of boundaries. Just be like, I'm your girl no matter what. And I will definitely travel with you wherever you want, but you got to give me heads up on shit.
Kelli (18:04.386)
Right. I'm your I'm your girl when you're in New York.
Lori (18:13.661)
because that's just how it is. But you know what, some people aren't good at setting boundaries like that, especially in their professional type relationships. You know what I mean? So.
Kelli (18:22.968)
I'm very bad at setting boundaries.
Kelli (18:31.192)
So then we get to Daisy's brunch. She walks in and asks for champagne immediately.
Lori (18:36.753)
$1,200.
Kelli (18:38.796)
Yeah. And as soon as she gets there, Eugene calls her to see if she turned off all the electricity and locked the door.
Lori (18:45.563)
I think he was busting her though. I didn't think he really called her.
Kelli (18:47.598)
I think he was too, but I'll tell you what, I panic every day I curl my hair when I like if I recurl it.
Lori (18:54.036)
my god, you know how I'm, I can't even tell you how many times in my life my husband has asked me before we leave the house, you didn't leave anything plugged in did you? Carling on.
Kelli (19:07.094)
Yep. I have to say it. I've started say I'm like, I'm unplugging the curling iron. I have to say it out loud so that when I'm in my car on my way to work, I remember that I said I'm unplugging the curling iron. Yeah. this was the best. So Erica gets there and they're all talking, and Erica says that when her husband travels, she puts his watches and her rings in.
Lori (19:08.443)
my god. Sorry.
Lori (19:21.181)
playing on.
Lori (19:33.447)
This is something I would do. This is something I would do.
Kelli (19:36.96)
Outside the bedroom door. So if a burglar comes in, they'll just take that and leave her alone.
Lori (19:41.841)
Then leave. Leave her alone. And then she puts a big fucking knife under the pillow. I just thought, my God, this girl is me. That's totally something I would do. It's great.
Kelli (19:50.463)
I think that was so funny. I really did. this is when Eric says that an architect looked at her house and said it looks like a house in New Orleans that got hit with cur Hurricane Katrina. Girl, I'm not even I'm not even bringing this up again because it is nonsense. Nonsense. You're a princess. That's ridiculous. You should be ashamed of yourself.
Lori (20:10.37)
my God, she's too much. It's too
Kelli (20:15.933)
Jessel shows up and it's very awkward between she and Erin and Jessel says she called pest control but the pest is still here.
Lori (20:22.949)
And cockroaches are hard to kill in New York City.
Kelli (20:29.08)
Cy comes in and she's surprised, but nobody really knows why they're here. Like, honestly, it's like let's have a brunch for Cy, but she's not telling anybody what's going on, so
Lori (20:38.118)
Right. Right.
Kelli (20:41.006)
Haley's talking about how she smoked her cart that was an eighth and there's only a little nugget left. So I guess she's really leading with this weed thing.
Lori (20:53.949)
I guess everybody's got some.
Kelli (20:55.424)
I guess so, yeah. Carol shows up and Sai's trying to explain to her how they've met before and it does take Carol quite a while.
Lori (21:02.705)
That was weird.
That was a weird, that was a weird scene. I was like watching it going like, this is weird.
Kelli (21:12.352)
Yeah, it was very awkward. Very, very awkward.
Lori (21:13.991)
It was very awkward and weird.
Kelli (21:18.153)
she finally gets it though. Or sh at least she pretends like she finally gets it.
Lori (21:20.765)
She pretended, exactly what she did. She's like, all right, I'm tired of staring at this girl trying to think, like, I'm just gonna say yeah.
Kelli (21:30.018)
Yeah. So Daisy's saying how she likes it when Eugene leaves a party early because he counts her drinks. That would be annoying. I wouldn't like it if somebody did that to me.
Lori (21:40.381)
Right. But like I said, I think she requires a lot of tending too. I think she's very infantile.
Kelli (21:45.772)
Yeah. Well Cy asks her if she would pr prefer the tutor and then Daisy
Lori (21:51.686)
Now listen, that I was like, I see you, Sy. Like, they're supposed to be good friends and she went and threw your girl onto the bus. I was like,
Kelli (22:01.368)
Well, I don't think Cy knew the extent of it because I think Daisy was try remember Sai said last sea last week that s Daisy was trying to get her to use this tutor.
Lori (22:05.213)
okay.
Lori (22:12.443)
Right, right, right.
Kelli (22:13.994)
I don't think she knew the extent of it because then Daisy reads a text from the tutor to her. Basically, I mean, fli I don't even think flirting's the word, like coming on strong.
Lori (22:15.768)
Lori (22:24.938)
No. Yeah. Yeah. Like.
Kelli (22:28.428)
Like I've never felt this way about a married woman, right?
Lori (22:32.081)
Yeah, like that was, my only question is, why is he still in your employment after that?
Kelli (22:40.518)
yeah, and I don't well, first of all I loved when Jessie was Jessel was like, She's stiffler's mom.
So fucking funny. And then she loves the text. She hearts the text. And then she by accident hits like the voice recorder. And what she's saying is recording, but she X is out before it goes. And listen, I'm not ever one to blame the woman, obviously, but what Jessel said here, I thought was a good question. Like, it sounds like you're leading him on. Like, what are you doing to make him think it that it's okay?
To send a text like that because
Lori (23:21.233)
Yeah, how can he be so comfortable sending you a text like that?
Kelli (23:24.842)
Either you're doing something to make him feel comfortable enough to do that or when you got that text, you should have immediately called him and said, That is extremely inappropriate. I'm a married woman. And right, we're gonna have to end this professional relationship.
Lori (23:36.719)
Yeah. think that you're that you have to end this, you know, right, right. You can no longer come to my home. Absolutely. And tell your husband.
Kelli (23:44.973)
That yeah, that was yeah. And she says, so Daisy's only response is I don't know how to how I don't know how to set a boundary that I'm married and that it's not okay. you might want to figure that out.
Lori (23:55.196)
I just had a ghost. Yeah. What? Yeah, you might like quick.
Kelli (24:02.484)
I I fear that we're gonna hear the next couple that's separated is gonna be Daisy and Eugene.
Lori (24:09.627)
I mean, can you, what are you doing saying something like that on TV? Your husband's gonna hear that, right? He gonna know now? It's crazy town, crazy town.
Kelli (24:15.614)
Exactly. That's what I'm saying. If he didn't know already, he knows now.
Kelli (24:23.284)
I could not agree with you more. Erin gives a toast to Cy, and she says really nice things. She says she thinks friendship is really important. And I'm not here to kick you out of your own party. I would only kick you out if we weren't really friends. So Carol's like, okay, so what just happened here? Well, Erin's an asshole. That's what just happened. So I'm sorry that she's the one pretending she brought you on the show and she's your friend because she's the worst. they tell Carol.
Lori (24:39.207)
That was is. Yeah. Yeah.
Lori (24:50.525)
Right. I had one word for her for this episode and I'm not saying that she is this word, but she's acting like it. She's very cunty. Like, ew.
Kelli (25:03.021)
Yes.
Listen, Erin has that main character syndrome. She thinks the show revolves around her because they only brought her, Cy, and Jessel back. And Erin I I think w as soon as Erin got on the show, she thought that the show was revolving around her. She's got that main character syndrome, and she's gotta stop because I don't like her. And I don't see anybody else on social media that likes her. She is
Lori (25:29.309)
Mm-mm.
Lori (25:32.849)
Mm-mm.
Kelli (25:34.548)
So easily removable from this show.
Lori (25:37.691)
Right. And Caroline said, you know, like I would never say that about a friend. And then in confessional, Aaron's all pissed off because, you know, well be pissed off at yourself. Cause no one will be coming for you if you didn't do the things you did.
Kelli (25:55.759)
Right. So Aaron says to Jessel, you know, you and I had our history and then our dads passed away and we had a lunch and we were connected, but I felt like then our connection completely went away. And Jessel's like, Well, first of all, if you felt that way, you should have called me. And Aaron says, I didn't say anything that bad. And Carol says, You said she was obnoxious, desperate, and thirsty. And yeah, and then Erin gets all pissed off. Well, you said it.
Lori (26:13.959)
Absolutely.
Lori (26:25.189)
Right, what are you getting? Crazy, what are you getting pissed for? Right.
Kelli (26:27.448)
She's on a show, she's doing her job.
And then Erin comes up with some crazy story about a dermatologist and they flash back and she said Jessel wasn't nice to him and all Jessel said was, I don't think we've met, but it's very nice to meet you. That's all she said. I don't think we've met before, but it's very nice to meet you. And now she goes to him. So
Lori (26:37.373)
during the time.
Lori (26:54.267)
Yeah. And Haley said,
Kelli (26:55.564)
And then in the middle of it all, Sigh's like, Hello, I thought this brunch was about me.
Lori (27:00.785)
Right. And then Haley said in her confessional is about the dermatologist. Is this a popularity contest? This is like the corniest shit I ever heard. And then Carolyn's like, who fights about their dermatologist? have been like a thousand HIPAA laws like violated here. Yeah. Weird.
Kelli (27:18.23)
Yeah, it's just so weird. It's weird.
Erin says, I truly apologize for talking shit about you. And then Haley brings up, so she apologizes to Jessel. Haley brings up the fact that Erin repeated the broken nose story to Alison, her date, and Erin says, I was tipsy and I was just messing around. So Haley says, You didn't have to say that. And Erin asks, Is this a pylon? Now I'm not a fan of a pylon, but this wasn't a pylon.
You talked to Jessel about your issues with her. Right. Right. And then Haley brought up what you did at the party. That's not a pilot.
Lori (27:51.494)
No, this is you getting, you getting called out. You're getting called out. It's not a pile on two different things. All right. All right.
Kelli (28:02.696)
and then we get to the most cringy part of the episode. Daisy says to Carol, I'm dying to talk to you about love story. I wanna know all about Caroline Bissett and Jessel's like, just ask her, was she a bitch?
Lori (28:08.263)
Good God.
Kelli (28:20.012)
Now I didn't watch this documentary, so I don't know if they're basing this off of that. I'm assuming I guess maybe this movie did not portray Carolyn in the nicest way. From what I remember back then, she was just a very quiet, introverted person. She wasn't in like when people said John FK Junior like J F K Jr.'s getting married to this w it was like, Who's this woman? Like you never heard of her before. She was just a very fly under the radar person.
Lori (28:44.923)
Right. You know what she had? You know what she had? She was a very beautiful woman, but she just had like...
She just had almost like a resting bitch face, but it wasn't, don't think, I don't necessarily think, I don't know anything about her. Maybe she was a bitch, I don't know, but she just had that face, but it wasn't like a nasty resting bitch face. It was just a very poised, you know, she just was not interactive with like paparazzi and stuff. She just had.
Kelli (29:24.15)
And I'm sure dating and marrying JFK Jr., like all of a sudden there are a million cameras in your face. Like, if you're not into that, you're not into it. And she certainly didn't seem into it. But anyway, Jessel says something very crude. And then Carol says, Caroline was very fun. She was a girls girl but before being a girls girl was ever even a thing. She said, I won't watch the show.
Lori (29:28.221)
Yeah.
Lori (29:32.402)
Mm-hmm.
To that right. To it right.
Kelli (29:53.879)
I think she wound up saying she watched she like started watching a couple of minutes of it and just couldn't do it. And I don't blame her. That's I mean, her husband's gone, they're gone. Like these were people she spent a lot of time with. And I'm sure she's still grieving their loss.
Lori (29:58.214)
and then so can do it right.
Lori (30:06.149)
Yeah, Jessel just did not. She did not read the room on this one. My God.
Kelli (30:12.116)
my god, Jessel, absolutely not. and then she asks, my god, then she asks Carol, what do you think about the Caroline Bassette summer with the minimalist styling? And listen, I get that Jessel's into fashion. Caroline Bassette was into fashion, I believe. I didn't realize we were in a Caroline Bassette summer, but I'm not a fashionable person, so I wouldn't know. but again.
Lori (30:27.975)
Right.
Lori (30:35.717)
Right, right, what do you know? Right.
Kelli (30:42.05)
Let it go. And then the worst thing she says is, Do you think the family's cursed?
Lori (30:43.579)
Right. Just read, read, read the room.
Lori (30:51.839)
my gosh. Lordy, lordy, lord.
Kelli (30:52.118)
I mean just so
What are doing?
Lori (30:57.969)
Yeah. But I thought that, I thought that, I thought that Caroline leaving was a bit much. I mean, yes, Jessel should have read the room better, but I'm sorry. I know, and I know things were hurtful for Caroline, but that was a long time ago. You are a big girl. You are now on a TV show and I just don't think she should have left. I think she should have just been like,
Kelli (31:26.519)
I think it was just
Lori (31:27.483)
I think she just wouldn't like been like this about Jocelyne and continued on and and continued on with getting her paycheck and doing what she was supposed to do. I just thought that was kind of.
Kelli (31:37.015)
It didn't seem like Jessela was letting up though. I think that was the problem. I think it went from one thing t to another to another to another. And she's like, All right, no matter what 'cause she said I don't want to talk about this. She said that. And then she kept going. So I think that's why she left. I agree with you. I don't like it when these housewives get up and leave. I think you need to finish the assignment. You knew you were filming today.
Lori (31:43.773)
to another thing to another thing. Right.
Lori (31:52.497)
Right.
Lori (32:01.111)
Right, right. I can get it if you're super upset or, or, you know, somebody says something really horrible, but I was just like,
Kelli (32:13.228)
Right. Right.
Lori (32:14.171)
You know, like you're a certain age, you should know how to handle people and just be like, you know, there's just certain ways to do it and just be like, look, if you ask me one more thing about her, I'm moving my seat. You don't wanna make a joke out of it. Like just do, just, if she's not getting it, there's ways to make her get it and still just not, I don't know.
Kelli (32:38.7)
You know, it's funny 'cause I forgot that that documentary even came out or whatever it is. It was on Netflix, whatever it is. But I wonder if that's part of the reason they had Carol come back. It could be.
Lori (32:48.187)
Maybe, yeah. Maybe they thought it'd be a draw.
Kelli (32:52.238)
So then the burlesque show starts and Erin whispers to Daisy that Jessel is a clout chaser. So you just apologized and seconds later you are shit talking her.
Lori (33:01.129)
please.
Yeah. Now, now I wouldn't say that that statement's false. I think Jessel does do a little cloud chasing, but that's besides the point. Like you said, the point is, right, you just, you just said you apologized and now you're, what are you doing? What are you doing?
Kelli (33:16.288)
It's besides the point.
Kelli (33:23.648)
Exactly. Exactly. She's the worst. Erin is the worst. She's a mean girl. She's one hundred percent a mean girl. Cy was right alongside of her the first season they were on together. Cy got hip to the fact that people weren't liking it, and she fixed it. And Erin is still going with it.
Lori (33:39.933)
Mm-hmm.
Yes, she's just, she's just very two faced.
Kelli (33:45.878)
Mm hmm. Big time. So I don't even know. Did we see previews from the next episode?
Lori (33:51.162)
Yes. Coming attractions. we see one thing I wrote down about it was we see they're at some dinner and Aaron is calling out Haley about what she said about Aaron being boring. So Aaron says, I'd rather be boring than break up a marriage of a man who has eight children. And I thought to myself,
Kelli (34:10.102)
her being boring.
Lori (34:23.345)
What the fuck difference does it make how many kids you have? Like if you're breaking up somebody's marriage, you're breaking up somebody's marriage. Like where they have no kids, one kid, five, like what difference does it make how many kids they have?
Kelli (34:36.344)
So this is what Kim D said. And and she says a lot more, but I'll just I'll just say this part. So like I said, Kim D from Real House Eyes of New Jersey, she's never been a cast member. She's always been a friend of. But she was very good friends with the Glassmans, Doctor Glassman, who's a plastic surgeon, who is Haley's father.
When John and Kate plus Eight were on, Kate went for a mommy makeover and Dr. Glassman did it. At the time they were separated, but the network TLC didn't want anybody to know because obviously they wanted the show to continue. So they do the mommy makeover on Kate. Knowing that they're separated, they let John live in their fully finished.
garage apartment. Haley was away at college. And then at some point she came home from college. John and Kate are still separated. And they start dating. And they went to the mother and told her we're dating. And she was like, okay. So Haley is trying to make it like her mother was pushing her on John Gosselin, but Kim D is stating that that is in fact not true.
Now I don't know any mother who would push their daughter on somebody who has eight children.
Lori (36:04.891)
and is currently married to someone else, separated or not.
Kelli (36:08.064)
Right. I mean, yes, he was on T V, but I don't think it wa they weren't getting paid what people are getting paid today.
Lori (36:15.653)
No, and I'm sure the Glassman family was doing just fine without John's money. I'm sure, I'm sure Hailey...
Kelli (36:19.178)
Exactly. Although she is in a lavender marriage, so she definitely was looking to marry Rich.
Lori (36:26.011)
Right, I'm sure the Glassman family could have introduced her to lots of very successful men. Yeah, you know what I mean? yeah, I'm very curious as to what her gig is, like how she ended up, where she ended up, you know?
Kelli (36:34.326)
A lot of other people. Exactly.
Kelli (36:46.402)
Hopefully we find out, but Kim D's calling her out for being a big old fraud. Kim D also says that nobody who's friends with her or in her family were ever at a wedding. She's claiming to be married to this man for fifteen years. Kim D's like, Really? 'Cause nobody went to a wedding. I mean they could have they c if it's really a lavender marriage, maybe it was just like, you know.
Lori (37:09.597)
Could have just a lobe or something. Or a civil service or something.
Kelli (37:14.242)
Yeah, exactly. But that's what she's saying. It's a great Patreon with Kim D and Dina Wilkie sub from September fifteenth. But yeah, so we'll see. Hopefully we will find out more about Hallie's background. She is interesting.
Lori (37:27.374)
is interesting.
Kelli (37:30.06)
Daisy, I don't know, girl. You had me at first, but after this episode I'm kinda losing it for you.
Lori (37:32.573)
Yeah, yeah, yeah, I'm like, mm, mm-hmm. Yeah, I don't know about that. So we'll see. Okay, that's enough.
Kelli (37:41.698)
We'll see. All right, well thanks for watching and listening.
Lori (37:46.504)
Good night. Bye.
Kelli (37:47.778)
Bye.
