In The City-From "I Do" to "I'm Done": Love Is Complicated

Summary – In The City S1 E6: "Knot So Simple"

Episode 6 is packed with emotional reunions, relationship uncertainty, and one surprisingly sweet wedding.

Yvonne and Nick finally tie the knot in an intimate Brooklyn ceremony, with Lindsay serving as witness. While celebrating their big day, viewers can't help but notice Yvonne's growing baby bump, confirming the couple's next chapter together.

The episode's most heartfelt moment belongs to Kenny, who reconnects with his father for the first time in 25 years. Their emotional phone call leads to an in-person reunion where both men break down in tears. Kenny also shares the heartbreaking news that his mother recently passed away from cancer, making their reunion even more meaningful.

Amanda settles into her new apartment with almost no furniture, but plenty of optimism. During a visit from her father, she opens up about Kyle's drinking, late nights, and bringing strangers into their shared home while intoxicated. Her father gently encourages her to prioritize her own happiness while warning that Kyle will need to change if they hope to save the marriage.

Kyle struggles with the empty apartment and begins clearing out Amanda's belongings. Later, he surprises Amanda with flowers, but their conversation quickly turns into another explosive argument. Amanda confronts him about his drinking and years of inappropriate behavior with other women, revealing that she received videos and messages about Kyle kissing and flirting with other women shortly after they were married. Kyle argues that Amanda doesn't support him or appreciate the financial pressure he's under, including a recent $5 million business deal, while Amanda insists his drinking and behavior have destroyed her trust.

Meanwhile, Danielle continues making room for Eoin in her apartment while discussing her ongoing divorce with her mother, who remains a constant source of support. The guys' golf outing meant to discuss Kyle's separation quickly derails into questions about Eoin's own divorce, leading to a tense confrontation with Gavin over relationships and commitment.

Lindsay, Yvonne, and Lexi provide comic relief with a hilarious trip to the pharmacy to shop for fertility supplies, where their very public conversation about ovulation, pregnancy positions, and "the milkman" leaves an elderly shopper thoroughly entertained.

Overall, the episode balances heartfelt family reunions, wedding celebrations, fertility journeys, and the growing realization that Amanda and Kyle's marriage may be beyond repair.

And also we'd like to congratulate Danielle on the birth of her baby, Aiden. he is ten weeks early, but

She's doing well and they said the baby's doing well. We'll be in the hospital for two to three months, but congratulations to her.

Kelli (00:39.396)
Yep. Congratulations to her. and congratulations to Jay Wow and Zach. They got married over the weekend.

Lori (00:40.204)
Yes, guy bus.

Wendy (00:45.566)
That's right. No, yesterday. They got married yesterday.

Lori (00:47.352)
Well nice.

Kelli (00:50.542)
Was it yesterday they got married on a

Wendy (00:51.986)
Yeah. Wednesday. Yeah, they people th it was a surprise wedding. They thought Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. I was happy to see that. Yeah, good for them. It was a small intimate

Kelli (00:55.844)
People are doing that now. Yeah, they thought they were going to a movie premiere. Yeah. Yeah, people are doing the weeknight weddings.

Kelli (01:07.278)
Well, I'm happy that yeah, I'm happy like it wasn't like a big thing for the show 'cause like that's just not her gig. So good for her. Mm-hmm.

Wendy (01:14.96)
No, that's not who she is, no.

So this is season one, episode number six, not K and O T, so simple. listen, it makes sense because they're tying the knots, Yvonne and Nick, officially. we start out with Amanda getting to her new apartment. And I thought this the next scene was a little bit funny. Georgina is on the phone with her mom via FaceTime, and her mom can't come and meet with her because she's got a sty in her eye.

And Georgina's like, I scheduled this for exactly one hour and sixteen minutes to be with you, but that's okay. I'm like Georgina. I it must have been. It's just so funny that she's that that's who she is. But honestly, that's all we really saw of her this episode. We didn't even see her. If there wasn't that that little scene, we wouldn't have seen her at all.

Lori (01:54.978)
Yeah, right.

Kelli (01:57.059)
It must have been our lunch break.

Lori (01:58.946)
Yeah, exactly.

Lori (02:06.465)
Yeah, right. Just said yeah, that's

Kelli (02:06.797)
Yeah.

Yeah.

Wendy (02:11.654)
So Amanda says to the mover, Have you ever moved anyone before with r without any furniture? And his answer is like, No, rarely. And then we're at Yvon Yvonne and Nick's apartment in Gramercy Park, and they're getting ready for their wedding day. Jackson, her dog, is going to be wearing a little tux, and Nick is going to be wearing a Hawaiian shirt and his suit.

Lori (02:34.349)
Hawaiian shirt with a dog's face is all on.

Wendy (02:37.504)
is that what was on it? I didn't realize that. okay. Okay, that makes way more sense, to be honest with you.

Lori (02:38.699)
Yes, yes, yes, yes. It's the dog's faces, huh.

Kelli (02:44.206)
Fighting.

Lori (02:44.981)
Yeah. Yeah. And it was nice how she was talking about how supportive Lindsay is. Now what what happened that Lindsay got to the point of having a bridal shower and then didn't get married?

Wendy (02:47.805)
Okay.

Kelli (02:53.561)
Yeah.

Wendy (02:53.618)
Yeah.

Wendy (03:02.324)
Gosh

Kelli (03:03.716)
She and Carl moved very fast in their relationship when they started dating and they got engaged and they had a shower and it it was a couple of months before the wedding.

Wendy (03:18.329)
No. A couple of weeks.

Kelli (03:22.19)
Well, the wedding was in October.

Wendy (03:22.834)
It was the end of August and they were supposed to get I thought it was September.

Kelli (03:27.5)
I thought it was October. Either way, it was very close to the wedding and Carl called it off.

Wendy (03:29.748)
Well it was the it was yeah. It was.

Lori (03:30.335)
Either way, whatever, whatever. Okay, and

Wendy (03:39.282)
Yeah. Yes. And it was it was her second time dating Carl.

Lori (03:46.76)
okay.

Wendy (03:48.082)
Yeah. But they're in a good place now.

Kelli (03:50.264)
We don't think there's gonna be a third.

Wendy (03:52.784)
No, no, no. But they're in they're

Lori (03:53.513)
I should certainly hope not.

Wendy (03:56.414)
They're friends now.

Kelli (03:56.643)
Although they're very they're very good now. They're on good terms, they're friends, she did the podcast, everything's good. We'll probably see Carl on in the city next season. He probably wasn't on the first season because they weren't in a good place. And this show really did start out like revolved around Lindsay. It was Lindsay's show.

Wendy (04:06.131)
Yes.

Wendy (04:15.272)
Yes. so next thing we see is Yvonne sitting on her couch doing her confessional. I don't know if you guys noticed this, but in the confessional she's got this very low-cut V-neck top on and her boobs are huge. So she is definitely pregnant there because like the next scene we see her in the drugstore with Lindsay and she's got the these little spaghetti straps on and she's trying to you know, they're talking about the ovulation kit and y her boobs are not that big.

Lori (04:27.777)
Very low. Huge. She must have been pregnant already. Pregnant.

Kelli (04:30.167)
Yvonne.

Wendy (04:44.869)
At all. Not at all.

Kelli (04:45.336)
Got it. So they filmed the confessional after she was pregnant. Okay.

Lori (04:49.154)
Yeah.

Wendy (04:49.328)
Yes, yes. And that's actually one of the things I wanted to point out. Like I don't I don't remember who was talking about it, but one of the four episodes maybe it's not in the city, Next Gen. I think maybe it was Next Gen NYC. So the four s the first four episodes, they do them, right? They edit them, and then

They start to do the confessionals once those first four episodes air because then they start to change the edits. Like they may switch the whole schedule up. So it's a long time in between when the episode shoots and when the actual confessional happens. It's yeah, yeah.

Kelli (05:37.464)
Right, when they record the rec confessional. Yeah. I remember somebody explaining that on a podcast. I was yeah, like the schedule, the timeline.

Lori (05:38.061)
okay.

Wendy (05:42.259)
Yes. Yes. Yeah. Yeah. so then Kenny and Whitney are at their apartment and Kenny's talking about he's you know, he set up a time for a c a phone call with his dad 'cause the last episode he called and spoke to his mom but his his dad wasn't there. last time he communicated with his dad was twenty five years ago and as soon as he calls his dad

The two of them are both very emotional. His dad had been up all night, couldn't wait to talk to him. He really appreciated him finding him. his dad keeps saying, I'm sorry, I'm sorry. He'd been searching hard.

Lori (06:24.759)
That made me cry. I was crying. As a men as a menopausal woman, I was crying. Yeah.

Wendy (06:26.64)
Yeah, it was very emotional.

Kelli (06:29.442)
Yeah, yeah. Yeah. It was nice. It was very nice.

Wendy (06:31.154)
Yeah, it it was it really was very nice. I mean it was very nice. you know, Kenny's like, I'd love to get you up here and you know, I'm gonna you know, send a flight down for you. You could stay at my place or we'll get you a hotel. And we'll see later on the episode. He makes that happen pretty quickly.

Lori (06:49.547)
Yeah. So I've I have some questions. I have some questions. Okay, Amanda and Kyle's apartment, it's like their apartment and then they have another apartment that they use for work that's like a connecting apartment it looks like. So right. How do how do these people afford three apartments in New York?

Kelli (06:50.084)
Yeah.

Kelli (07:03.542)
Mm-hmm. It's right across the hall.

Wendy (07:05.586)
It's next door. Yeah.

Wendy (07:12.382)
They're pretty wealthy.

Lori (07:14.431)
Okay. Just from this show or what did these people come in with dough beforehand?

Wendy (07:19.272)
I'm well, they've been on the show for ten years.

Kelli (07:19.588)
So this is it's so interesting you say this because I was thinking about this, because we'll we'll get there, but Kyle cries poor all the time. I'm under so much stress. I have all this stress. But just like you said, but you're you're paying for two apartments in New York City. Nice nice, nice apartments. So

Lori (07:22.122)
Okay.

Lori (07:42.125)
But I guess Amanda pays for her own third apartment. I'm like, how do you like you have to pay like three apartments?

Wendy (07:45.948)
Yes, Amanda's paying for her own. Yeah.

Kelli (07:46.127)
Well now she does. But o apparently she wasn't paying to live in the apartment with Kyle, and then once they separated, he gave her a spreadsheet of how much she owed him for back rent. Which listen, I I think that's okay personally. She wanted to leave and you've been living here for free. So pony up. But yeah. Hmm.

Lori (08:01.729)
She wanted to leave.

Lori (08:06.763)
Right. Okay. I was just I was just like, wow, like three apartments.

Wendy (08:09.331)
Yeah.

Wendy (08:12.692)
And I mean the w the one apartment is his office, so that's a business expense, right? The one that they live in to lived in together. I mean, he gave her a bill for $117,000 and she paid it on the spot. So that tells you something, right? I mean, sh they're making money on brand deals. Kyle Loverboy, there was a time because I listened to there was a time where Loverboy was making money.

Lori (08:17.599)
Right, right.

Lori (08:27.669)
Okay. Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm.

Lori (08:34.038)
Okay.

Wendy (08:42.504)
But but now they're not I mean, maybe they are again, but th they fell into some hard times. Like it's business is difficult.

Kelli (08:49.038)
Well, think about it though. Loverboy, when Loverboy first came out, it was the first of its kind. I'll give Kyle credit for that. But or actually Lindsay, because apparently she's the one who thought of the idea. But think about now. You have White Claws, you have Surfsides, you have all of these products that are very similar to Loverboy. They're much more affordable, you know, and they're and

Wendy (09:02.504)
Well, she's the one who hooked him up with yeah.

Wendy (09:09.438)
Yes.

Lori (09:11.213)
okay, I see, I see, I see. Okay.

Wendy (09:15.602)
Right. Right.

Kelli (09:17.806)
Big names are doing them. So yeah.

Lori (09:20.713)
Okay, I see, I see. W I see okay. I'm getting it now. All right.

Wendy (09:24.872)
Yeah. Okay, so the next thing we see is Danielle's apartment and she lives in Williamsburg, which I wanted to point out because that's Brooklyn. So remember w I said about Carl? Carl lives in Brooklyn too. So Brooklyn is not out of the question because I believe that Ken that Nick and Yvonne live in Brooklyn also because I know his studio is there and that's where they go get married in Brooklyn. So they must live there. Yeah.

Kelli (09:49.475)
Right. So they must live there. They must reside there. Yeah, I mean listen, we were trying to figure out why Carl why Carl wasn't on the show. It's gotta be because Lindsay didn't want him on the show because they weren't in a good place. I don't yeah, I don't think Brooklyn had anything to do with it.

Wendy (09:59.027)
Yeah.

Wendy (10:04.314)
No. So Danielle's mom comes over. She brought her over a plant this time. and olive oil. She said her mom lives in New Jersey and comes over every week on the same day at the same time. she thinks it's a cultural thing, you know, that Puerto Rican moms like to, you know, take care of you on a different level. I thought it was interesting when she's taking the stuff out of the bag, she says to her mom, Is that is that my dry cleaning? And then she's no, this I had o this had to be washed. So now

Not only is she bringing her plants and flowers and olive oil, she's also bringing her her dry cleaning and her doing her laundry for her. I mean, good for her. Good for her. Good for her.

Kelli (10:38.18)
I wonder where in Jersey her mom lives.

Lori (10:40.383)
Yeah. This this scene. Yeah, this scene made me very sad. Yeah, made me really sad. Miss my mom, yeah. But I think they have a very nice yeah, they have a very nice relationship. I like I really liked her mom.

Wendy (10:45.298)
Yeah, I wonder. Yeah. 'Cause yeah, absolutely. Absolutely. I mean I put like what a great mom.

Kelli (10:47.843)
Yeah, I'm sure.

Kelli (10:56.546)
Yeah, they do.

Wendy (10:59.186)
Yeah, I do too. So Danielle's trying to make some space for Owen in the apartment because it's like it's all her stuff and you know, she's like, you know, he's gotta get more than a closet and they show he's got a shelf.

So Dani Danielle has a rack of white blouses that she's going through, like Whitney has a rack of bla black blouses and Kelly has a rack of black everything.

Kelli (11:24.086)
Everything, everything.

And jeans.

Wendy (11:30.684)
Yeah. I was surprised. Like she only had white blouses on there. I was like, what is going on with these people?

Kelli (11:37.688)
Like button downs, right?

Lori (11:37.789)
Wait wait a second, wait a second, wait a second. When you in your closet Wendy, it your closet's not done by color?

Wendy (11:44.745)
my closet's absolutely done by color. But this wasn't a closet, this was a rolling rack.

Lori (11:46.677)
Yeah, okay. Okay. Yeah, it was just well, maybe she just took out one color at a time and is trying to trying to go through one color. Yeah.

Wendy (11:51.848)
took that one section.

Yeah, no, my closet's gonna buy color. her mom really likes Owen and she asks her, you know, how the divorce is going, 'cause he had mentioned it last time. She's like, Well, I mean, he's telling me, you know, it's going, he's he's working on it. And her mom, you know, is empathetic about the the blog articles and what was being said.

We see that Lindsay meets up with Nick and Yvonne and the dog in Brooklyn Heights for the wedding.

Lori (12:30.721)
She looked great, by the way.

Wendy (12:32.73)
I thought they honestly I thought they both that dress looked amazing on her. I thought I was like I I don't know about a white suit, but on him it really worked with that Hawaiian now I know it was a dog print shirt. I thought they looked really good. I did too.

Lori (12:36.801)
Yes, it does.

Lori (12:43.403)
Yep, yeah. Yeah, I thought they looked great. Yeah. I thought they looked like fun and hip and yeah, I thought it was really good.

Wendy (12:49.478)
I did too. Lindsay's talking about how she went on a double date with the milkman 'cause Yvonne asked her and she said still no sex.

Kelli (12:59.616)
I can't not think of Oshien from Southern Hospitality every time they say the milkman.

Lori (13:05.985)
Somebody did a a social media post and I forget wha who it was and they called him Lactation Frank.

Wendy (13:06.395)
that's so funny.

Kelli (13:07.852)
Because he's part of that.

Lori (13:17.151)
Like that's pretty good.

Wendy (13:18.867)
That's funny.

Kelli (13:19.224)
That's really good. That's really good.

Lori (13:20.877)
Mm-hmm.

Wendy (13:24.825)
then back at Amanda's apartment, Reese and her are out.

Lori (13:28.683)
Which is a shithole.

Wendy (13:31.56)
Well that's her.

Kelli (13:31.662)
Well, this is the whole thing. So well she did just first move she did just move in, so we're gonna give her a little time. But according to Kyle yeah, this is how this is how she lived, according to Kyle. I mean that would drive me nuts.

Lori (13:33.003)
What a mess my God

Lori (13:39.605)
No no no, her old one I'm talking about. I'm talking about her old one. Yeah. Well you not according to Kyle. All you all you gotta do is look at it. Horrible.

Wendy (13:46.487)
yeah. We're not there yet. Yeah.

Wendy (13:53.747)
Yeah. So we're at her new apartment now and her and her dog, Reese, go out on on the her balcony, which she, you know, that was her what did she call it? Her grate the amazing outdoor space. And you know, Reese goes outside on this little fake wee wee grass and her father comes to the door and she's like, she said she has her mom's heart, but

Kelli (14:05.892)
She said the outdoor space is amazing.

Wendy (14:21.576)
Her personality is more like her dad, that he is her protector to his core. I I don't know. I mean, we d we don't know him that we've seen him a couple times throughout these ten years. It's really hard to say. I I don't honestly, I don't know. he's looking around the place and she's got one share. she is. She is totally spoiled. She's totally spoiled.

Lori (14:40.087)
She seems spoiled. She seems like a very spoil very spoiled person.

Kelli (14:45.218)
I I'm pretty sure that's the vibe.

Lori (14:47.721)
Yeah, okay. I got it right then, all right.

Wendy (14:48.082)
Yeah. She's to Yep, she's totally spoiled.

Kelli (14:50.724)
I mean, she grew up in Hillsborough, New Jersey, so and if they got married at her house, which was spectacular. I mean, Hillsboro's no, you know, no joke.

Wendy (14:54.217)
Yeah.

Lori (15:00.853)
No joke, okay.

Wendy (15:02.6)
Yeah. So then they go out on the balcony and you know, sh he sh she shows her dad and there's a helicopter out there and she's like, you know, this is my favorite spot and he's like, Are you allowed to s to smoke out here? She's like, No. He's like, Well, good thing you don't, which we all know she does. She's like, I had assigned four different four different things. But I don't know if you notice while they were out there, he was holding her hand, which I kind of thought was really sweet. Like I said, like Yeah, I was like, You know what? Like

Lori (15:28.175)
no, I didn't notice that.

Wendy (15:31.6)
She really does have this kind of special just to see her holding his hand, I thought to myself, That's really sweet.

Kelli (15:34.606)
Yeah.

Wendy (15:41.042)
And then we go to Kyle's apartment and he's got Lisa and Rachel, the organizers there. I don't blame him. I mean that place was a disaster.

Kelli (15:48.278)
I don't blame him either. I don't blame him either. And he and I would have felt the same way. Like, where do I even start? Like where do I you know?

Lori (15:49.303)
my god, I was just like wow.

Wendy (15:55.593)
Yeah.

Lori (15:57.25)
I would have just started chucking it in a box and like renting the storage space. Get it out. Get it out. In the in the shower, and I was like, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa. And I I guess sometimes she looks good, but every time I would I just remember seeing her just from watching these couple episodes. She's always in like baggy like men's clothes. So what do you need all these clothes for if you don't

Kelli (16:01.998)
Yeah. Yep. Yeah.

Kelli (16:10.446)
Yeah.

Wendy (16:25.822)
That's her West era.

Kelli (16:28.1)
Yeah. Yeah.

She dressed better on Summer House.

Lori (16:32.353)
I mean this Okay. okay. So she did. All right. 'Cause I was thinking like w what are you buying all these clothes for if you're

Kelli (16:39.404)
Especially when Paige was on because then it was like not a competition, but kind of a competition.

Lori (16:45.515)
Okay.

Wendy (16:47.444)
But it was summer and was summer in the Hamptons. So she was wearing bikinis and wearing like she's tiny. She's a tiny girl. She's got a great figure.

Kelli (16:52.418)
Yeah. Yeah. Yes, she does.

Wendy (16:57.6)
and then Manda's back at the apartment telling her father that her biggest issue with Kyle has always been his drinking. or that he's seen out slurring his words and you know, then the other night he brought strangers home, you know, at two AM while I was sleeping. That was the night before I was leaving. And the look on her father's face, I don't know if you caught that, but he was just like But he you know, he

He was actually kind with his words. He's like, Listen, I think that, you know, maybe you guys need to compromise. You know, maybe you go out with Kyle a little more and you know, maybe not out as late. She's no, I'm gonna be going out by myself. Okay, well that says it right there, Amanda. You didn't you didn't she keep saying that she moved out so she can work on the relationship and then she gives Kyle shit. She gives Kyle shit when he says he wants her crap out of there.

Lori (17:39.296)
Absolutely.

Lori (17:44.631)
I think she lying, I think she lying, lying, lying. She wanted she wanted to move out. That's why she moved out. And even even her

Wendy (17:54.58)
Yeah.

Kelli (17:55.151)
But again, I will go back to if I were married to Kyle and we were going out and he was drinking excessively every time and I had to become his babysitter every time we went out, I wouldn't go out with him either. I would go out with my friends, but I wouldn't go out with him. I don't want to be anyone's babysitter. And I think that that's how she felt.

But I agree with you that she's saying one thing and she's definitely doing another.

Lori (18:26.583)
Doing that. I mean, even her dad was like, so it wasn't a mutual decision you to move out?

Kelli (18:34.188)
Right. He's like when you first presented this to us it sounded as if it were mutual.

Wendy (18:35.347)
Right.

Wendy (18:43.474)
And then he asked, Well, what if he doesn't make the changes that you want? What if his behavior doesn't change? And she's like, Well, unfortunately then I'm gonna have to do something drastic that I don't wanna do. Okay. So then do it. You know?

Kelli (18:55.254)
And she and she did.

Lori (18:57.973)
obviously.

Kelli (18:58.83)
You know, it's so funny to watch what's going on on the valley with Danny and how people are coming so hard. Where is this energy for Kyle, who's been doing this for 10 years, getting belligerently drunk and saying F you to his wife? And nobody on social media is coming for Kyle for any of that. But look at what

is happening with Danny. It is it's very interesting that these shows are playing at the same time.

Lori (19:32.481)
Well, let me ask you this. K does

Wendy (19:32.936)
Well, I think it's it's different though, because Kyle's always been this way. And we've said this before, Kyle was gonna be the villain of the season until Amanda went with West. So Kyle was gonna be the villain. He's always been this way. He's always been this way. Danny and Nia, they're saying portray this perfect couple. It's I think it's totally different. I think it's totally different.

Kelli (19:44.878)
Yeah, but that doesn't that doesn't

Yeah, but

Lori (19:57.58)
And I would say I you know, Amanda's not likable. So y you add that to it. She she to me is not likable at all.

Kelli (20:04.844)
And honestly, I don't think I don't think she was likable even before all this West stuff. Like, I think that had she not gone for West, I mean, we've said it a million times, after leaving Kyle, people would have been like, Okay, like she had every right to leave him, blah blah blah. But I don't think she it wasn't like when Ariana and Tom Sandoval broke up. Like everybody loved Ariana. Nobody it wasn't like that with Amanda.

Wendy (20:29.198)
No. Right.

Kelli (20:33.336)
You're right. She wasn't very likable.

Wendy (20:35.262)
She's not likable.

Lori (20:35.277)
Plus plus, you know, after how many years if somebody portrays the same behavior and you stay, you kinda lose some sympathy 'cause people are like, Well, you know, why j yeah. Yeah, that's what I'm saying. So I think maybe that kind of plays into it a little bit too. I don't know.

Kelli (20:49.048)
Why'd you stay? Is it because you were on a T V show?

Kelli (20:56.74)
Sure, sure.

Wendy (20:58.236)
Yeah. So then the next thing we see is in Williamsburg. They are at an indoor golf place and it's all the guys on Drea, Owen, Kenny, Kyle, Nick, and Gavin. Gavin shows up wearing Kenny's pants. What are your thoughts on that?

Lori (21:16.993)
I told ya this dude this dude's kinda weird. And he's like, We've been friends fifteen years and Gavin says, We're like high school girls. We share each other's clothes. And then the other dude's like, I've never borrowed any of his like elephant size clothes.

Kelli (21:17.378)
Why just

Kelli (21:32.609)
Exactly.

Wendy (21:34.268)
Right, right. I know.

Lori (21:36.001)
Yeah, I was like, Gavin, what?

Kelli (21:37.56)
Yeah. Gavin's like, We share clothes all the time. Kenny's like, We do not

Wendy (21:41.714)
I know I know.

Lori (21:45.28)
And and what was up with with Gavin saying asking Kyle, you're gonna get late? That's like very inappropriate. You know, some b they're still married. She supposedly moved out, which is i if you're Kyle's friend is not great for him if he, you know, doesn't wanna get divorced. It's just like a we there was so many weird inappropriate that guy Gavin's weird, man. He's weird, dude.

Kelli (22:13.368)
He's very immature. But I I said it to Wendy. I don't think you were on the podcast with us the one time we were talking about this show. I think that Gavin has wa has been friends with Lindsay for a long time. And I think he's watched her on Summer House. And I think Gavin thought on In the City, I think he thought he was going to be like a breakout.

Lori (22:14.965)
He's very immature.

Kelli (22:35.072)
And I think he's doing everything he can to try to be that breakout guy on this show. And it's not landing.

Wendy (22:37.096)
Yeah.

Lori (22:37.964)
Right.

Yeah, yeah, yeah. No

Wendy (22:43.844)
No, it's not landing. And I totally agree what he said to Kyle. And Kyle being the guy he is, he's like, you know what? It you know, he's like, it should be on the top of the list, but there's other things I gotta worry about. And then Kenny chimes in is like, you know, if you don't mind updating people, like what's going on? And and Kyle says, Listen, I really appreciate how you guys have been there for me. You know, I don't really know all the answers. Like it's kind of in unfolding real time. And then Kenny like I thought Kenny was being

good about this. He's like, you I really like Amanda, but I'm trying to understand like what's like what is it you're fighting for? Like what is it? And I I agree with him. Like that's the question to be asking. Like if you were friends right, like that's that's something that's gonna be helpful.

Kelli (23:18.914)
Yeah. It's a valid question.

Lori (23:22.283)
Right. And and I think the problem lies in Kyle's answer, which is I don't know.

Wendy (23:28.592)
Absolutely.

Wendy (23:33.532)
Right. It's scary to think about being alone starting over.

Lori (23:33.643)
Well, is this not really that's not really right, that right. Neither one of those were good answers or very telling into your emotional maturity either 'cause I was like, okay, there's problems here.

Wendy (23:39.102)
Right.

Kelli (23:48.473)
Yeah.

Wendy (23:48.489)
Well, we know that. I like we know that Kyle is emotionally immature. But then then with the next part where Owen jumps in and he's like, you know, if he feels sad about the situation, and Kyle said, Well, the situation, you know, sucks. And Owen said, But all breakups suck. Like like we all feel sad about them. And Gavin Gavin said Gavin said to him, your own breakup with your ex with your wife, is that sad? Now why did Gavin have to jump in with that? Like that

Kelli (24:16.931)
I mean

Wendy (24:17.072)
Whole thing was Gavin ambushing it and it totally pissed me off. It totally pissed me off.

Kelli (24:22.541)
Yeah.

Lori (24:23.541)
And how about when he asked her, did you meet Danielle when you were still with your wife? I was like, Wow. Wow. And then how about Yeah, how about I don't want to ask too many questions. I was like, Really? 'Cause you're doing a pretty good job of asking.

Wendy (24:28.829)
Yes.

How long were you married?

Kelli (24:37.497)
Yeah.

I did think it was interesting that Owen said he was married for four years though, 'cause didn't we hear that they were newlyweds when he left her for Danielle, supposedly?

Lori (24:48.429)
Well four years I consider a newly wet. I I would consider I would consider four years newlyweds. I think anything under five years is newly weds. I that's what I would think.

Wendy (24:48.68)
I did hear that they I I mean it I do too, but I did hear that it was newly West. I didn't I didn't know it was four years.

Kelli (24:51.864)
No way.

Kelli (25:01.001)
I all right, all right. I feel like two I feel like once you cross over two years it's like all right, now you're just married like the rest of us.

Lori (25:06.321)
okay. Okay.

Wendy (25:10.676)
Kenny said to Owen for clarity, like, are you separated and not divorced? And Owen said, Yes. And then Kyle asked if you filed, and Owen said, Yes. Like we're going through the process. Then Gavin again says, Well, what do you actually file? Again, what are you doing, Gavin? And he's like irreconcil in irreconcilable differences. And then Kenny jumps in and says, Well, like once you filed, and after that, then after a while, then you're divorced. And Gavin

Again goes after Kenny and says so

Kelli (25:41.796)
Yeah, like it's a no fault state. Like you don't have to say why you're you just file a petition for divorce. Like

Wendy (25:46.568)
They weren't married in New York. No no no. I believe they were married in Ireland. I think that that is where the issue lies.

Kelli (25:53.924)
okay.

Lori (25:54.63)
There can be a lot of things in a divorce that can make it drag out for than you know, it's not just it's not just sign the paper and walk away always. You know what I mean? There can be other shit. Yeah.

Wendy (25:56.829)
No, absolutely, absolute No, no, no, no, no. Right. Every every situation is different. Every situation is different. But the fact that you know, Gavin has to then go in on Kenny when Kenny's trying to take the heat off of Owen, right? And then he says to him, like is this what did he say? is that you know this so well 'cause that's where you're headed.

Kelli (25:58.317)
I'm thinking it's Jersey. Yeah.

Lori (26:14.39)
Right, right.

Lori (26:19.053)
he said he said, Do you know Yeah, do you know this because this is where you're headed? my god. I was like, dude you he's gonna like punch you in the face.

Kelli (26:29.41)
Yeah. Yeah.

Wendy (26:31.932)
Yeah, I mean I wrote down I'm so confused about this whole conversation. The conversation was about Kyle giving an update where he's at, then they're grilling Owen, then Gavin's going for Kenny. Like it was it was honestly it was very difficult to watch. And it was very

Kelli (26:47.352)
Yeah, that's what I mean. He's just doing too much, Gavin. Too much.

Lori (26:50.859)
Yeah. It's like, whoa, dude, you better slow down. You better slow your roll, you know?

Wendy (26:51.337)
Yeah.

Wendy (26:55.324)
Yeah.

Kelli (26:56.152)
Well, he's trying to be like Lindsay. But i y you can't o only she can get away with it on this show right now. Right now. Right now.

Lori (26:59.041)
Yeah. Ne the male version of Villancy. Yeah. Yeah, right.

Wendy (27:05.394)
Yeah, he definitely has to slow it up because it just wasn't good. And, you know, Nick Nick calls actually Kenny calls him out on it and, you know, then Nick, you know, says you like the drama. And then Kyle's like, Listen, I'm I'm try not to be a mediator here, but it he feels like you're he wants you to be excited for him. And Gavin's like, No, I am excited for him. And Kenny's like, Yeah, but you also have yeah, you have a a sort of hate towards the relationship. Like you called her boring. And he did.

Kelli (27:25.732)
You got a great way of showing it.

Lori (27:32.761)
Yeah.

Kelli (27:33.08)
He did He did.

Wendy (27:37.505)
next we see the ladies in the pharmacy, Lindsay, Yvonne and Lexi, and they're talking about Lindsay explained to them about this fertility app and they're not understanding it. So they're maybe talking about do we need the strips? And Lindsay puts it out there. Basically you only have twelve hours a month you can get pregnant. Did you google did did do somebody Google it, please? I don't think that's true. I think we need to Google I do not think that that is true. I mean that does not make any sense.

Lori (27:56.597)
I never knew this.

Kelli (27:58.095)
I never knew that either.

Lori (28:01.197)
I didn't go

Wendy (28:07.07)
There'd be no children if that was the case. Like nobody w I mean twelve hours a month? Come on.

Kelli (28:09.633)
All I know is

All I know is Eric and I were like, you wanna have you wanna try to get pregnant? And I blinked and I was pregnant. So I you know I don't know. How many hours in a month do you ovulate?

Wendy (28:26.43)
That's crazy.

Kelli (28:30.244)
'Cause that's what it's about, right?

Wendy (28:32.53)
Yeah. While you're looking that up, they're asking Lindsay about like what position she was in when she got pregnant. And I know. So she okay, what does it say?

Lori (28:39.861)
I did not need to know any of this.

Kelli (28:44.196)
You only ovulate for one day per menstrual cycle. During the single day, an ovary releases a mature egg, which survives for only twelve to twenty-four hours. You have a fertile window of about five to seven days each month. This window includes the five days leading up to ovulation.

Wendy (29:07.25)
Okay, so it's not twelve hours.

Kelli (29:11.254)
Y that's a very confusing answer answer.

Wendy (29:11.41)
It's five to seven days. No, but it's s it sounds to me like five to seven days.

Lori (29:13.633)
Yeah, it was a confusing item.

Kelli (29:17.165)
Yeah.

Lori (29:19.341)
Who knows?

Wendy (29:19.624)
Just because the egg is there you don't have to fertilize it that very minute, like I don't know.

I don't think twelve hours is the answer though. So then Lindsay's talking about her position and

There's a guy sitting there, an older gentleman in the scooter.

Lori (29:37.045)
It was so creepy. I I would have like moved to a different section of the store. I would I would not have continued my conversation in front of that creeper.

Wendy (29:44.517)
I I was dying. I he was not moving. No, he wasn't moving. And then Lindsay's Lindsay's talking about the milkman because Yvonne's giving her a hard time about not having sex with the milkman. And she's like, What am I supposed to do? Just walk outside and say I'm gonna F him? And the the wheelchair guy is like, free milk. And Lindsay's like

Kelli (29:46.328)
He was not moving. He was not leaving.

Lori (29:49.099)
No, no, no. He was very happy.

Kelli (30:10.082)
I do think Yvonne has a point though. Like you're saying you're not looking for anything serious, so just sleep with him. If she if Lindsay told him I'd like to have sex, there's no way he'd be like, I think we should wait. He'd be like, Okay.

Wendy (30:23.078)
Exactly. You're exactly right. And that's what I put down. Like, although like Lindsay doesn't like the milkman and she's not feeling him, she absolutely has Lindsay's best interest at heart. And she knows her probably better than anybody. And she's just trying to call her out on like what it is she's looking for. I totally agree. then back at the West Village, Kenny is there waiting for his dad.

Kelli (30:36.675)
Right.

Wendy (30:49.786)
And his dad comes up from behind him and hugs him and once again another emotional moment.

Kelli (30:57.55)
Yeah, that was sweet.

Wendy (30:57.608)
They're crying, they hug. It was very sweet. It was very sweet.

Kelli (31:00.738)
He does look like his dad.

Lori (31:02.551)
It does, yeah.

Wendy (31:04.05)
He does, but is I was surprised how short his dad was.

Lori (31:06.507)
Yes, I was short. Yeah. But I thought he's I thought he was very eloquent and expressing his emotions about his dad. And I think he's really really like really is yeah, really mature about it. Like he's saying, like it's twenty five years of suppressed emotions. And I think that, you know, a lot of people don't realize that, that when something that like that happens to you, you just

Kelli (31:07.192)
Yeah. Yeah.

Wendy (31:19.836)
I did too.

Mature.

Lori (31:36.3)
You know, like he said, you just say, I'm okay, I'm okay, and just keep going and going and going. But stuff real like that really does affect you deeply and a lot of people just self medicate or act out in certain behaviors and I'm just saying he just has a l I think he's got a mature sense of self realization about himself. So Yeah, he does.

Kelli (31:58.393)
Yeah. He seems like a very smart guy.

Wendy (32:02.396)
He definitely does and I I think he's probably the wealthiest of them all.

Kelli (32:09.156)
Maybe, yeah. I mean Gavin can't do too bad with all those bars, but

Wendy (32:10.514)
I mean, he's the Gavin does have several bars and restaurants. That is true. Kenny also in his confessional says, you know, they their relationship ended like on decent terms. It's not like there was a fight or anything. They were just like in two different directions. And he was his father lived in London and he was in the United States and as you know, as a kid there wasn't really, you know, a relationship to be had, which again, I you know, is very mature.

Kelli (32:39.246)
Yeah, makes sense. It was nice though when he said, like, I'm sure you heard, but mom passed away and you know, and then his father felt even worse, like, my god, I wish I could have been there for you, but from here on out, like I got you, you know. Yeah, I thought that was nice.

Lori (32:39.756)
Mm.

Wendy (32:49.277)
Yes.

Lori (32:53.994)
Right, right.

Wendy (32:54.494)
Yeah.

Wendy (32:59.5)
then we see Kyle shows up at Amanda's apartment. He shows up with flowers, he walks in and gives her a kiss. on the cheek. Yeah. He greets the dog Reese. So I guess she has Reese and he has Ryder. And

Lori (33:06.761)
On the cheek. She turns to

Kelli (33:19.918)
Which is kinda sad for the dogs though, because

Lori (33:21.963)
For the dogs. Absolutely stay up for the dog.

Wendy (33:22.31)
It it's exactly how I feel. It's sad for the dogs, right? Why'd you have to split them up?

Kelli (33:25.284)
Why'd you have to split them up?

Lori (33:27.723)
I wanna right, I wanna say this. The dogs are the relationship. See, because Amanda's dog, she says, it she's so happy to be here. Kyle's dog, she loves here. Kyle's dog is confused and keeps looking for Amanda. The dogs are the relationship.

Kelli (33:36.409)
Yeah.

Wendy (33:43.408)
Mm-hmm. She loves it here.

Kelli (33:49.989)
huh.

Wendy (33:52.958)
Totally agree. Totally agree.

Kelli (33:52.994)
Yeah. Yeah.

Wendy (33:57.453)
he brought over the dress for her that she wanted. He I I guess you're gonna wear that for Yvonne's thing. And she's Yes. And then he says, Look at this, I'm just confused. I thought you would have brought more stuff with you, you know, at the jump because you had a moving company. And Amanda's like, Well, I don't have this like she got all of a sudden she got defensive. I don't have the space to t to take everything with me. Right? Right? And Kyle said, Well, what right

Kelli (34:16.196)
She sh most certainly did get defensive.

Lori (34:21.771)
I would look you wanted to move and you signed a year lease. Get your fucking shit out.

Wendy (34:26.3)
Right. And then he's like, all right, well so then what's the plan? Like I'm excited about about like to be able to feel like my house is a home again and she got pissed. your home that doesn't include me? Well, because you moved out and you left all your crap there. I mean, what the hell is wrong with you?

Lori (34:37.459)
You moved it's It's crazy. It's crazy.

Kelli (34:37.666)
You left.

Kelli (34:42.572)
Right.

Yes, he wants to be able to sit in a room that has been covered in clothes for years.

Lori (34:49.419)
Right. Absolutely.

Wendy (34:51.634)
Right. Right. Yeah.

Lori (34:54.657)
Maybe he wants to go in that shower. He pays for.

Kelli (34:57.026)
Yeah. yeah. I I will say this though. When he said to her, you know, that call that I was on, that was for a five million dollar check. And she's like, mm, okay. And I'm gonna tell you why I think she was like that. Because I don't think she believes him for one second. And I don't either. I think he was full of shit when he said that. Because I think he is that guy that'll just say something like that to her.

Wendy (34:57.449)
Yeah.

Wendy (35:17.245)
Why?

Kelli (35:24.878)
To make her feel bad, but she's been through it so many times. She's like, okay, Kyle. If you were on a call with somebody who was gonna give you five million dollars first, you probably would have told me. Like, I have a very important call. My husband has has meetings all the time when he works remote. He makes sure everyone in the house knows I'm going on a meeting. I need, you know.

Lori (35:26.637)
okay.

okay.

Wendy (35:45.662)
But you guys are speaking. They weren't even speaking.

Kelli (35:48.431)
But come on, you're going on a meeting with somebody who might give you five million dollars. You can't go to your estranged wife and be like, Listen, I just need to take this, you know. You don't lock the door. stop. I I don't think she believed him and I don't either.

Lori (35:57.292)
Right, I know you're supposed to be leaving, but I got it.

Wendy (35:59.573)
But maybe know the call was coming in. Maybe he didn't know that when the call was coming in.

Wendy (36:07.25)
You always think the worst. You always think the worst. You always think the worst.

Lori (36:12.535)
Just feel money.

Kelli (36:12.59)
Well, I just call out bullshit when I see it and I think that that was a load of bullshit. I don't know. I mean, you're a professional. You you plan for a a meeting with somebody who might be cutting you a check for five mil. And you prepare for that meeting. You're not just gonna hop on the phone to be like, Hey, I was waiting for your call. Buddy, how about that five million dollar check? Like you're gonna be prepared. You're gonna have a presentation, you're gonna

Wendy (36:26.82)
It

Wendy (36:38.388)
Again, like I don't we don't know anything about it. We don't know what part of the sales process it was in. This could have been his third call with the guy. It could have been a follow up call.

Kelli (36:47.544)
Well, if it was that relaxed of a situation, then why even bring it up to her? Why throw it in her face that she came in the room?

Wendy (36:55.688)
Because he was trying to explain She didn't care either way. She didn't care either way.

Lori (36:59.179)
No, I think it's because I think it was

Kelli (37:01.624)
She didn't care and I don't think she believed him.

Lori (37:04.225)
I think it was because he was trying to point out that like i if you were interested in Loverboy and what was going on, if you were if you had conversations with me about that, then you know I was th I was thinking he's it was just in the vein of Wells you're not interested at all. Like how would you know? Because

Kelli (37:29.284)
You're not asking.

Wendy (37:29.712)
He has no interest in what's going on with the business. He has no interest. And her point is sh sh he has no interest in what's going on in their their marriage. They both are at like a stalemate. Neither one is talking to each other about the issues, right? He's stressed out. He took his own money. He put all of his money into Loverboy. Obviously it wasn't her money because she wasn't even paying the rent. And he's got salaries that he's gotta make. He's got other people that are relying on him.

Lori (37:30.294)
You're

Wendy (37:58.887)
And she has no idea and is just you know, stoned every night in bed, complaining about him. He's stressed out and going out, acting out. He's admitting it. I'm acting out. You're never there. You're don't show me any affection. You're not there for me. I you know, I'm human. I need to get I need to get a release.

Kelli (38:13.582)
You know, it w I think it would be different if this is was new behavior for him, but it's not new behavior. So for him saying he's acting out because of the way she's acting, like, but you've been acting like that for ten years and she didn't always act like this. So I don't think she was always like a pothead getting we you know, stoned. Which whatever. I mean, every but like I I don't smoke weed, it's just not my gig. But everybody else I know does. So like

Lori (38:25.165)
For for ten years, right.

Kelli (38:40.118)
I'm sure she's not the only per well, I understand if he doesn't want to live with somebody who does it whatever, it doesn't matter. But this isn't new behavior for Kyle. He's been doing the same thing for ten years. So he's been acting out for ten years?

Lori (38:55.691)
No. I'm new to this show.

Wendy (38:55.828)
Listen, I mean, even Andrea, listen, even Andrea said, you know, Kyle went to his wedding in Italy without Amanda. Kyle has been going solo for many events because Amanda didn't want to be a part of it. Kyle doesn't always go out and get drunk. Not every single time. I would imagine if Amanda's there with him, he's not gonna be drinking, he's not gonna be acting out. If he has someone to dance with and someone to talk to. But we don't know because we're not there.

Kelli (39:22.756)
I don't know.

Wendy (39:25.766)
I'm just giving him the benefit of the doubt and I know you're not. And that's okay. We don't have to agree. It's it's okay. You don't have to.

Kelli (39:30.396)
I feel bad for Kyle. I do. I just I just think that he you know, he made his bed and now he's got a lie in it. But so did she and now she's got a lie in her bed. Like they're both they're both wrong, you know. Neither one of them put the effort into the marriage that they could have. And that's why they're where they are.

Lori (39:38.381)
So to say. Yeah.

Lori (39:46.443)
Or should have, right.

Wendy (39:51.519)
Yeah. I mean and then in her confessional, you know, she starts talking about, you know, there was a time where right after we got married, I got a video and and then I got a bunch of DMs from the girl herself and Kyle was being very handsy asking if he could kiss her and the producer's like, Well you didn't tell anybody and she's like, No, I was embarrassed. Okay, well, you know. W

You didn't do anything about it. Like you said, you know, you lived like this for however many years. Like it takes two for a marriage to end.

Kelli (40:28.77)
sure she had a conversation with him about it, but it wasn't, you know, on air. It wasn't, you know, maybe it was in the off season or whatever. So

Wendy (40:38.452)
I doubt it because honestly, both Amanda and Kyle admitted that they spoke to each other more, had more conversations on air at the summer house than they did off off season. Because he was off doing his own thing and she was off doing her own thing. Like they've both said that.

Lori (40:55.053)
They're just a mass.

Wendy (40:56.754)
No, they shouldn't be married. It yeah, they shouldn't they shouldn't be married. And Kyle I said like he wants this to be an easy divorce. You you come you leave with what you brought in, I leave with what I brought in. Like he doesn't want this long drawn out thing.

Kelli (40:56.854)
It's just it's just time for them to call it. Just call it. Call it.

Lori (40:59.285)
Yeah, it's it's a must.

Kelli (41:09.7)
Well the good news is that they never co mingled bank accounts. I mean, that was the smartest thing they ever did.

Wendy (41:13.854)
Right.

Right, right. And they don't have any children, thank God. Like thank God there's no children. They just have two poor little dogs that are gonna have to live their life separated because of those two schmucks.

Kelli (41:19.672)
Right.

Lori (41:19.713)
Yeah. God, yeah.

Kelli (41:25.43)
I mean, I think it's ridicul like I understand that they don't wanna I guess one of them doesn't wanna ever not be with the dogs, but come on, man. Those dogs they're bro they're legit brother and sister, aren't they? Like or sister whatever. Yeah. And they look identical.

Wendy (41:39.22)
Probably they got them at the same time. I mean they've been together forever. Right. Right. Yeah. So I mean next week looks explosive. Next week looks explosive.

Lori (41:41.771)
They might as well be, right.

Lori (41:48.449)
So they're just a mess. I I wrote down, looks like a fun reception. Dot dot dot.

Kelli (41:54.788)
wait, is that when Lindsay gets up and tells Danielle she can leave? The girl in the white dress can leave and Danielle says actually it's pink.

Wendy (41:55.186)
Yeah.

Wendy (42:02.334)
Pink, yep, that's it. Yep.

Kelli (42:06.284)
Wow.

Wendy (42:08.146)
Yeah.

Lori (42:09.997)
Well, this is reality T V.

Wendy (42:11.56)
I'm looking forward to that.

Kelli (42:15.032)
